Dylan Ratigan, Mad as Hell: His Epic “Network” Moment
August 9, 2011We’ve got a real problem…this is a mathematical fact. Tens of trillions of dollars are being extracted from the United States of America. Democrats aren’t doing it, republicans aren’t doing it, an entire integrated system, banking, trade and taxation, created by both parties over a period of two decades is at work on our entire country right now.
Dylan: What are you talking about $4 trillion?
Karen: $4 trillion, I’m saying…
Dylan: We owe $70 trillion. [cross-talking 04:29] a $4 trillion solution, which is basically just a way for the Democrats to avoid dealing with this until 2017. I’m not here to talk about plans to deal with this till 2017. I’m saying we’ve got a real problem, and I’m tired of Republicans and Democrats who either want – Republicans who want to burn the place to the ground and Democrats, with all due respect, who want to offer a plan that gets it through the end of their second term of their presidency, and then screws me and my kids when it’s over! And until we do that, we have to deal with the extraction that is at foot, it is the reason the financial markets are behaving the way they’re behaving, it is a mathematical fact! This is not some opinion; this is a mathematical fact. Tens of trillions of dollars are being extracted from the United States of America. Democrats aren’t doing it, Republicans are not doing it, an entire integrated system, financial system, trading system, taxing system, that was created by both parties over a period of two decades is at work on our entire country right now. And we’re sitting here arguing about whether we should do the $4 trillion plan that kicks the can down the road for the President for 2017, or burn the place to the ground, both of which are reckless, irresponsible, and stupid. And the fact of the matter is until we actually, and I’m sorry to lose my temper, but I tell you what, I’ve been coming on TV for three years doing this, and the fact of the matter is that there’s a refusal on both the Democratic and the Republican side of the aisle to acknowledge the mathematical problem, which is that the United States of America is being extracted. It’s being extracted through banking, it’s being extracted through trade, and it’s being extracted through taxation, and there’s not a single politician that has stepped forward, Susan, to deal with this.
Susan: Yeah, but there’s only one right now, the leader of the free world, whether you like it or not, the President of the United States is arguably one of the most powerful individuals we have out there, and he’s our President.
Karen: But, Susan, what you’re saying is exactly the point that Dylan is making. It’s not about one guy; it’s about all of them.
Susan: No, I actually disagree. I think Dylan – it is about one guy.
Dylan: I agree with her. It is about one guy.
Karen: What would you like him to do? What do you want him to do?
Dylan: I would like him to go to the people of the United States of America and say, “People of the United States of America, your Congress is bought, your Congress is incapable of making legislation on healthcare, banking, trade, or taxes because if they do it, they will lose their political funding and they won’t do it. But I’m the President of the United States, and I won’t have a country that is run by a bought Congress. So I’m not going to work with a bought Congress and try to be Mr. Big Guy, ‘I’m working with a bought Congress’, I’m going to abandon the bought Congress like Teddy Roosevelt did, and I’m going to go to the people of the United States and I’m going to say, ‘You’ve got a bought Congress,” and until we get rid of the bought Congress, which is Jimmy Williams constant point, which is get the money out of politics, and until a President says that’s the problem and says he’s going to fix it, there is no policy that I can possibly see no matter how brilliant your idea may be or your idea or my idea or her idea or your idea at home, is that idea will not happen as long as there’s a capacity to basically fire a politician who disagrees with me by taking funding away from him. Is that a fair assessment?
Jimmy: Money in politics is the root of all political evil. It is corruption at its worst. And until we step up and kick that out of the park, it’s going to be the same system all the way.
Dylan: And only the President can do that.
Jimmy: No, no, no, Congress has to do it, too. Congress has to do it, too.
Dylan: But I’ll tell you what, how bad does it have to get? How much money has to be extracted? How many things have to be heard?
Karen: [cross-talking 07:59] tax. Okay, physically, what do you do?
Dylan: You go and give a speech to…
Karen: Right now.
Dylan: Yeah, right now. You say…
Karen: And then what happens tomorrow?
Dylan: Tomorrow, what happens is you begin the process of actually investing in solving the problems, so I come out and I say, “How?” I create an infrastructure bank with 2% blending immediately. There’s – once I explain to people the problem, once I explain to you that you have cancer, once you understand how screwed up your trade, tax, and banking policies are, believe me, you will have no issue when I incorporate an infrastructure bank that I fund with repatriated offshore money that I bring in and then use to create 2% direct lending to every business in America because when you realize that the banking system is fully corrupt and defrauding us, and I come out and say that, which is what I want my President to do, then at that exact moment I say, “You know what, we’ve got a screwed up situation here, people. You all know it, and now I’m going to admit it.” And as a result, not only have I admitted it, but we’re going to begin the process of solving it like grown ups. They did in World War II, they did it after the Civil War, they did it in Latin America with the Brady Bond; we are not seeing it happen now.
The panel stays a little more emotional than I anticipated getting at work this afternoon, but what am I going to do? The middle-class attempting to fight back in Wisconsin…what today’s big recall election in Wisconsin tells us about the mood in America; Ed Shultz joins us. And then Wisconsin, the jumping off point for our latest blog on DylanRatigan.com, as Wisconsin is a state where two-thirds of corporations pay zilch in taxes, while teachers and cops pick up the slack. That doesn’t sound like fun. Check that out on DylanRatigan.com after the show. Remember, you can always weigh in on Twitter or at DylanRatigan on Facebook.

Well done! Finally!
Finally someone has the courage to tell it like it is.
Marie
Let's make sure that the suits don't suspend him too.
I would like to say that this blog really convinced me to do it! Thanks, very good post.
DYLAN FOR PRESIDENT 2012
He's got my vote
He has my vote to, would be nice to have him as president..
Dylan, That was great and very refreshing. Thank you for having the guts to call it like it is. You ought to run for president. Millions who agree with you would make sure you got voted in instead of the richest lobbyists best buddy. We are sick of it, and your the man. Thank you, thank you!
Great Rant! Sounded like the truth to me. Run for President with the Citizens Party! votecitizens.org
isnt the Citizen party the tea party?
Just watch this video….THEN DO SOMETHING !!!!!!…..GO VIRAL !!!!
3 Cheers for Dylan!!! My father and I have been sickened by this fleecing of America at the cost of our infastructure, education, benefits, and standard of living. Thank you for speaking out and calling out the President & Congress for their ignorance and accepting what most people would call bribes to allow the system to operate it has for too long.
I hope your coporate handlers will not reel you in, and force to you stick to the talking points of the day as so many other programs do. Your right, if we want to fix this country, we must accept the painful truth of what caused it, face it, and begin the repairs for EVERYONE'S best interest, not the short term special interests of a select few.
We are fortunate to have a few people such as Dylan Ratigan trying to lead the way for us to take back America. However many times we complain, whine and moan, it is up to the American citizens to take back their country and lives. It seems that we believe it is someone else's responsibility to take care of us. It is our responsibility to fight for our lives. After all, it is our lives which are being destroyed. It is up to each citizen to protect and care for this country and it's citizens. It is our time to speak out against persecution by our own country.
Best statement of the facts I've ever seen. Well done Dylan. Now, I only hope our President can become as engaged!
I "hope" the president can learn a thing or two from him.who knows, Dylan can "change" something the way potilics work in our government.
American, right on! RUN, DYLAN, RUN!!
The President is baling out a sinking ship with a spoon.
Dylan,
Passionate and spot on. Well done, it proves there are Americans who UNDERSTAND and are angry.
DavidC
The truth can set you free. Does anyone in our government bother to watch Dylan speak the unvarnished truth? And why can't we change election funding in this country???? Why am I asking why….
Jim you are so right!
How many Americans are actively attempting to change election funding in this country? How many are even exploring the concept of term limits for politicians? Nothing changes, because most citizens refuse to engage in change. We all seem to think reform is someone else's responsibility. Is it our responsibility to fight for our country and our lives? If not, who's responsibility is it to fight for my citizen rights.
Looks like Nicholas Shaxon's "Treasure Islands" is a must read for you, Dylan. We are no doubt in the grips of an evil, evil enemy … hopelessly insolvent … easily overcome with reinstatement of Glass-Steagall (HR 1489). THAT piece of legislation should be the benchmark.for determining any politicians worth. Right now, there are 32 co-sponsors. There need be 10x more. Go to work angry man!
Amen my friend
Enjoyed your rant today! Thought you or your staff might want to check this out: http://www.postcarbon.org/blog-post/440496-gdp-is…
HA! I could not believe the venom DR was spewing. Good call, Mr. "Right-again"! Now if only some of his key words/terms such as "extraction", "syphoning" and "manipulation via tax, banking and trade laws" could be replaced with the real world/ common man's terms they actually represent (but folks are not aloud to use THOSE WORDS on television without being disgraced), maybe we could get some where socio-politically in this country.
Now feel free to call me all the names you might like after noticing my "name", but one thing translates directly to the other.
His handlers will be too busy deleting comments from people who have an opposing view ! MSNBC are such hypocrits ! This clown is about 20 times above his pay grade…..and his solution is MORE government
Just get an education – a real one,. not a GED. Most people I know, even in trailer parks, would understand these words. You are right about one thing: "one thing translates directly to the other". Your screen name matches your ignorance and inanity. Come back when you can get ba few more brain cells working; vous ette un parasseur.
Vous etes un paresseux.
We all know washington is bought and paid for. The public doesn't realize where the money comes from, and who the president answear's too, shadow govt of the Zionist NWO. Who do they think owns the big banks and the federal reserve?
Brilliant. Well said Dylan. GOP party members sign up to the rules of an unelected person that is not even a voter in their own district – Grover Norquist – and it just shows that they don't give a crap about the people who elected them. Any sense (or pretense) of democracy and representation has been thrown out of the window.
I called MSNBC and told them that Dylan was great. We cheered as he waded deeper and deeper into the MSNBC suspension pool. He told the truth. Don't let the suits shut him down. Protest if the bust him!
Yeah I'm Sure the Republican House will hear the President say that and say "OK I guess you have point, We wont obstruct, We wont stand in your way to the point we would let the world economy go into the shitpot"". If we only knew it was that easy. Thanks, DR
He didn't say it would be easy. He said we need to get started NOW.
I've said for years that we don't need a politician in the White House, we need a statesman. What we got was the worst president in the last 100 years. I'm guessing that Jimmy Carter is sleeping better at night.
Go Dylan Go!
Oh Bullshit! The reality is far more bleak than a call to action by a TV host telling the President what he should do and everything will workout. I agree we should not be satisfied with what is happening in Washington but if you really think that the Republican house will agree to anything and I mean anything he asks for including things they previously agreed to your crazy. You know this is not going to happen.
The president needs to be strong and stand on the values of the people that got him elected (mine) but if we don't get voter turn out that exceeds the incredible and heartbreaking recall election in WI (paint any silver lining you want, Walker will still have more R minions for a while) we are doomed to GW 2.0 in the next election. Yes RPerry will be the next Pres if we are not careful.
I still support the President but I'm discouraged by his actions. I do think that we would be far worse off with 4-8 more years of tax cuts for the rich (even though we have that still).
Who knows maybe the point of view I have is not the most popular point of view and more people in America believe its a world of I've got mine you stay the f' away from mine and you fend for your self. Maybe the most popular point of view is not one of charity and goodwill but of stay out of my personal life and out of my business life but I will make sure you don't do anything in your bedroom that my husband seems to like. Hell lets let the conservatives just redefine everything. Lets say we believe in the forgiveness of Christ and the love and goodness of Christ and put an "Express lane" in for the electric chair. Need not be guilty to sit.
It makes me sad to think we are doomed and we live in a wold of profound stupidity that we can have a large amount of our population think the road to success is the same road we have been on for over a decade.
I think DR's attitude is right because its what I think as well, but it makes it look like it is just as simple as making a speech and the whole wold will be invigorated by his motivational pep talk. Shit is real when you the Pres. you don't know what he knows and has to deal with and keep it in the public view.
You're right Dylan Ritagan we need to be pissed off but we need to point in the right direction. Some D's and alot R's.
Go Dylan Go! YOU ROCK!
Love your show!
An introduction to reality….
Whew! All I can say is……It's about time! Keep it Dylan! You are a breath of fresh air! Never apologize! This needs to be said, just as you said it! Over and over and over again! I have been saying it and everybody should listen to this. I am sick of talking points and bulls**t! Until what you said happens, happens, I as a blue collar construction worker will never have a chance. Thank you Dylan.
Dylan Ratigan goes on a rant railing against the "evil" capitalist system, the same system that allows this clown to be paid 20 times above his pay grade…..and doesn't offer one positive solution that doesn't include MORE government in our lives ! Government is not the solution…..Government is the PROBLEM !
I don't think it's capitalism he is railing against, fellow GLPer (I think)… more like the infected political system and how it is manipulated by/for uber-capitalist /coporatist/z**nist gain.
You haven't REALLY LISTENED to Dylan–if you had, you wouldn't post such NONSENSE. Put your head back in the sand, until, (and if), you should EVER POSSIBLY learn to THINK for yourself.
What ever happened to the notion that 'we, the people' are the government. Those in power now have their power because we gave it to them through indifference, ignorance, innocence, etc. We were lazy and didn't bother to pay much attention when greed usurped our power. The American citizens are the only people who can take back the power of the people and the greatness of America.
So lets end government, that's the answer? Each person for themselves? Not real world. Its reform of government that no longer serves and does not represent the people. Are we really just going to sit passively by and let a few people who think we are too reliant on social security and medicare dismantle it? These are systems that the majority of the people, 80%, want, that we willingly pay into (where the blank did "entitlement" propaganda get into this) so that in our old age, in addition to the portfolio of the rather unpredictable investment markets for those that can invest in them, we have an income and healthcare available, to prevent our elderly from ending up on the streets. We need better management. and a government that listens to and works for the majority of the population, not a few loud mouths in power or some corporates wanting to further "extract" from the country.
Capitalists aren't responsible for our economic problems! Capitalist; one with wealth usually invested in business. These folks hold history of careful risk with their money. It's the new breed of adventurists investing other peoples money, often with great risk but with small personal financial responsibility who we must drive out of our system so that capitalists will return.
We thought Obama was the One.
Clear now that he's not.
Integrity and truth.
We've run out of time.
I vote for the Diogenes Party.
Go Dylan!
cool down, my friend. we don't give a medal to guy just because he said something NICE/rRIGHT once in his life time. action will prove everything.
Great burst of truth and a terrific summation of the shared problems we all face.
Now get busy Dylan Ratigan with the solution found here;
http://www.zerohedge.com/print/365866
I thought the part about what Obama should do was especially powerful. However seeing how sheepish Obama has been leaves me no confidence that he will stand up and be the inspirational, transformational President that we all voted for.
Money subverts democracy by influencing policy that favors one constituency(business) at the expense of another(society). Of course Mr. O had record breaking campaign fundraising . This was of course because people voted (with their checkbooks) that people wanted more transparency in Government. He has done nothing to change this and has brought in the same old faces, for the most part.
If Obama doesn't change things the people will (with the help of Dylan and others as motivation). Unfortunately things only tend to get attention when they are said with force. I admire that DR has the passion to do that. But the other 95% of what he says more calmly, is just as accurate and insightful.
I agree obviously with the gist of his statements, I don't think it will do any good for the president to go on a speaking tour, telling anyone and everyone that will listen that congress will not do the people's business.
#1. If you don't already know that, it's not likely a new speech is going to wake them up.
#2. All of the speaking tours in the world aren't going to get those TEA party congressmen/women to do anything until after the election, because they only care about politics.
#3. And I don't think Dylan gets it. This is a Democracy, when you go out and vote to put people like that into power, you give them power, you give people power that only care about profit & greed, as such there are consequences for not paying attention. We unfortunately live in a country filled with dummies, that are easily manipulated, and the GOP believes they can manipulate people, or they wouldn't be trying so hard to do it.
I actually think Dylan would be an interesting candidate for president, it would take him about a week to realize, there isn't anything the president can do, other than put on a good show, and that's all he has the power to do now.
Our media is the biggest problem in all of this. There is no people's voice anymore on TV or radio, only corporate voices.
Jeff you may be right about some of these things but if the Arab world can rise up and revolt through social media – don't you think we "dummies" here in the US can? Aside from what Mayme is saying which is true – we dummies also get lied to by people running for office. It's time we dummies here in the US wake up and stop believing the lies that have been spoonfed to us for decades. I have people in my immediate family that would refuse to believe what DR is saying in this video. Let's hope it goes viral.
social media is under attack….thanks to flash mobs and the UKs riots there is a plan to censor the tweet, and its gone so far as the police using a signal blocker at a train station….and so it begins
Some of us 'dummies' have been fighting government/political/big money for decades. We haven't been overly successful, because the majority of American citizens refuse to put their money where their mouths are. It is much easier to avoid responsibility and blame everyone else for all problems.
we need a strong leader(s), that are about political reform, ending career politicians, breaking up the party system that divides us and prevents all of the people being heard, more referendum type voting on key issues, term limits to one term, no private campaign funds, all public campaigns with equal access, ending of propaganda and manipulation…and capable of leading a cultural change of working together as a team and prosperity for all.
Dylan, you're my savior!! I keep from going crazy by watching you because even though we can't count on congress, gop or democrats–we got you!! "Right-Again" for Ratigan, I like that!! Dylan, keep it up and if MSNBC is listening, DON'T FIRE DYLAN–EVER!!!! You're our hero brother–you really are. I know it might seem frustrating, but keep going–we're all eating it up!! You're funneling everything we're feeling out here in the slipping, middle-class. We're dying out here!! So thank-you for being our advocate. We need a third way in politics and that can only come from ending money in politics. It's terrible that in "The Great America" you have numerous choices in cereal but only two in politics!!! If that's not a sign that the system is rigged by BOTH PARTIES—then I'm going to just wander off into the hills and live in a cave.
We can hope for a Bernie Sanders run~~I'd get behind Dylan 100% if he would be willing to take it on.
They better not get rid of Dylan or they are cutting thier own throats because tens of thousands of us will go elsewhere.
Agreed…couldn't have said it better.
We don't need a third party. That would just give all the Corps.a new way to influence Congress. What we need to do is for all U.S. citizens to stay mad as hell and work legally to make the necessary adjustments to bring government back under control of the voters.
We, the citizenry, have been too complacent to let the other fellow do it while we play with all the new toys that come on the market that are made in China. There are some things we can do personally while we work on straightening out the politicians. One thing is to ascertain where what we buy is made. If we absolutely do not need it, if it is not made in the U.S., do not buy it. If it doesn't sell in the U.S. just perhaps manufacturerers will get the message. Come on, folks, we really, really do not need the "new" this or the "new" that that comes on the market if it is not made in the U.S.
O.K. we do need to trade with our neighbors but not at our expense alone. Let them make some concessions to do business with us,too. Keep up the good work, MSNBC.
Amen!
I watchied hi show and his rant a some call it. I at times have that pasion, but find it hard to keep a lid on it, as most americans just want the nice version the pleasant version.. Not me, it's the truth, it needs told and he is right our president needs to stand up for the people needs to admit the known problem nd then start on a path to ending the corruption and greed. I have done searches on greed and corporate america, it is sickening and sadening how greedy CEOs and company owners have no compasion, no empathy for those they screw over, they fire (aka lay off) to make sure thier CEO salaries are around 500 times what an average worker makes, and that the copany makes billions in profit, but lays off people..People that for the msot part worked(no there are lazy people that go to work to collect a paycheck for doing as little as possible, but they are not the majority the majority is the working people trying to make ends meet. the people that the CEOs and company owners have no care what so ever about and cannot understand or begin to fathom the effects their greed has.
so far, this is the best thing MSNBC presents to us for years. we need a lot more guys like him to correct our current poison politic environment. keep it up, my friend.
also dylan is right on about the president, he is our electedl eader, and saying what is not said, but fairly well known will bring the greed and coruption into the light. Once that is done bring it to law makers and the people that he wants to make a solution, wants change and starts workign on it. If congress fights him on it they look bad, they look worse than bad they look bought out, evil , and greedy.. It won't do them good in this era and discontent to argue against reform in congress.. But alas he probably has no backbone and hasn't shown much backbone in his term so far in my view.
Our next president needs to have this information put to them and asked if they and how they intend to reform congress..don't let the presidential canidates squirm out from under the question or be evasive as so many politicians have been and are evasive to direct questions. An honest politician(hard to find !) won't be evasive..
Dylan,
You are 100% CORRECT! Thank you for standing up and speaking the absolute truth.
Thank you.
DinSFLA http://StopForeclosureFraud.com
Obama is ALSO "bought". He's bought by Wallstreet and the big banks. That's why he WON'T and CAN'T be the kind of president who has credibility and the balls to make a speach to the American people about what it takes, institutionally and politically, to make their poor, working and middle class lives better. Dylan has it right when he points the finger at Dems (in the 90's) for embracing Repubs policies of de-regulating sleazy corporate monster banking industries and Wallstreet and, so, it was the Dems who unleashed the de-regulation monster..leading to this unending double dip recession .Obama-Clintonite "Neoliberalism" is BAD for poor, working, and middle class Americans. Period. Obama (and his team: Summers, Geithner, etc.) are the REAL problem, while the Right is the same as its always been: idiotic and nuts…
Lets's stop playing the blame game and get to work on the solution.
I thought that I, like Dylan, was pointing to "the solution": scrap neoliberal economic policy, which is –and has been for at least the past two decades—embraced by the Democrats and Republicans. Neoliberal economic policy shreds the public sphere, public insitutions, the federal government, etc,. and favors privatization of EVERYTHING (that used to be public), giving tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations, bailing out corrupt banks and deregulating the financial sector/wallstreet and, in the process of all of this, it squeezes the life-opportunity-american dream out of working class and middle class Americans—- in the name of supposed "growth" and "free markets". THEY know this doesn't work for the majority of Americans and because they know this, it's just pure corruption. Both parties. Obama=Bush=Clinton=Reagan. With minor differences on taxation levels on the rich.
Hit it out of the ballpark today! Hope this starts a movement. We should be in the streets demanding exactly what Dylan outlined! Keep up the good work, and I'll keep watching your show…been a fan since day one!!!
Maybe take Dylan's "rant" and post it in an email to your elected officials? I am anyhow..Worth a shot.
Ya done real good, Dylan! Bravo!!
Exactly – the one problem that rules them all and binds them. HCR, war, bank bailouts, environment, trade, labor, energy, taxation, media, education all huge problems that stem from one problem – campaign finance exploitation.
A national bank is a good idea, but we need campaign caps, donor caps, and truth-in-advertising accountability. Also reforming the electoral college so that all US votes are equal. This would transform ALL of these problems.
How come no one has talked about this before Ratigan? Not a single politician working on CFR (campaign finance reform), and nary a media story….you know why. It's called top-down-messaging.
This great rant was a rare exception, an aberration, an accidental wet fart – NBC did not condone it and I predict may even muzzle Ratigan in some manner. This is exactly what they did not want, the dissemination of obvious truths, the piercing of the corporate media bubble, the hole in the dyke.
Spread this far and wide, early and often – share, retweet, digg, reddit, FB, make it count, make it meaningful.
Bravo Mr. Dylan.
Would love to see all of our elected officials having to work like we do for 25-30 years or more before they could draw retirement, would love to see them on the same health care plans that WE use, with skyrocketing premiums, and would like for them to be the first in line for salary cuts. I can't believe there is any talk at all of our service men and women not getting paid. Shame on our politicians, all parties! Keep on keepin' on, Dylan!!!
Let's pass a law requiring all politicians to work 8/10 weeks a year in a middle, lower class job. They would be required to live on their low wage salary, live in housing appropriate to their new income, etc. and have none of the perks of their 'class' including long distance telephone. If nothing else, the experience would scare the hell out of them and possibly provide an altered view the American citizen.
BRAVO!! It's been obvious for years to myself and a growing minority that the primary solution to our problems is simple— POLITICAL REFORM of our government.
1) Pass campaign reforms that only allow modest individual contributions and/or public financing for political campaigns. It's done in other western countries, it can be done in the USA.
2) Pass campaign reforms that greatly reduce the duration of political campaigns. The last presidential campaign season started almost 2 YEARS before the election! There is an entire industry that has developed and feeds off of supporting these long campaign cycles and it needs to end. Again, there are many western democracies who get the business of elections done in a short and sweet manner, so it can be done in the USA too.
I love DR and wish that his show was broadcast in prime time so that more citizens could hear his practical, passionate views on the problems that really face us. He is one of the only MSM voices who really get to the heart and core of the issues of our day and I wish we had a lot more like him.
NOTE TO MSNBC EXECUTIVES: I too will boycott MSNBC if DR is suspended or fired for getting so passionate over the TRUTH that our democracy has been slowly hijacked by big moneyed special interests and our problems will perpetuate and escalate until SOMETHING IS DONE to FIX it!!!!!!!
I too would support DR for any political office, including POTUS. Matter of fact, I've made my decision already who to vote for POTUS in 2012– write in vote for Dylan Ratigan.
Maybe he will be the one to finally start the political campaign reform movement that I've been longing to see spring up in this country! It's a joke that we go around the world trying to spread democracy when our own democratic system is COMPLETELY corrupted by special interests that buy our politicians at the expense of the greater good of the nation and it's people.
NOTE TO POTUS and Congressional leaders: The pitchforks and torches are coming to Washington DC very soon if you continue to game the current system and do not start supporting meaningful reforms of our current political system!
Go Dylan!!!!!!!!!!
It has been obvious for years " to myself and a growing minority" that we need political reform. There are those of us who have been engaged in advocating government reform for decades. Please join us. We have never had enough advocates or participation from other citizens. It is abundantly clear today that we either stand united as Americans or we fall to the greed of the privileged.
Listening to your rant today I was glad to see someone with passion about the economy. Most f what you said I agree with but like you I feel unable to do anything but to speak out.
Finally some TRUTH on TV !
That was amazingly brave and inspiring. It is time to rally the true voice of this country. We need leadership and direction. What should we do?
We can start a campaign like from the movie Brewsters Millions and vote for 'none of the above'.
This is a defining moment in someone's hands to go against the grain and lead. I have been down this road many times on a small scale serving on boards. It is not the popular choice, but in the end everything is better. I am ready to dedicate and sacrifice for what we need to do. This is our country, we have a voice, let it be heard.
It is time to band together and make this country great again and representative of the values it was founded on. Do not let the people be quieted by placating small change and concession. Do not fall for this gimmick. We need to dig deep and make the tough choices and now is the time.
Now is the time. What is our next step?
YES! I am with you and I think many of us are. The only next step I can come up with after decades of involvement with this issue is that we organize, unite and let our voices be heard. Hopefully, our united voices will be enough to change the course of this political system. If not, then it will be time to rethink the approach.
The system is broke because money buys politicians, so they do not solve problems. Instead of solving problems, politicians make things worse for every American except the rich and private firms. As a result, the American people are being held hostage by their own government. This is why no taxes come from the wealthy and private firms. This is why American jobs are shipped out to India and China. This is why the nation is going down fast. Lose the country and you lose your lives.
“We basically have two bankrupt parties bankrupting the country,” said the Stanford University political scientist Larry Diamond. Indeed, our two-party system is ossified; it lacks integrity and creativity and any sense of courage or high-aspiration in confronting our problems. We simply will not be able to do the things we need to do as a country to move forward “with all the vested interests that have accrued around these two parties,” added Diamond. “They cannot think about the overall public good and the longer term anymore because both parties are trapped in short-term, zero-sum calculations,” where each one’s gains are seen as the other’s losses.
We have to rip open this two-party duopoly and have it challenged by a serious third party that will talk about education reform, without worrying about offending unions; financial reform, without worrying about losing donations from Wall Street; corporate tax reductions to stimulate jobs, without worrying about offending the far left; energy and climate reform, without worrying about offending the far right and coal-state Democrats; and proper health care reform, without worrying about offending insurers and drug companies.
“If competition is good for our economy,” asks Diamond, “why isn’t it good for our politics?”
We need a third party on the stage of the next presidential debate to look Americans in the eye and say: “These two parties are lying to you. They can’t tell you the truth because they are each trapped in decades of special interests. I am not going to tell you what you want to hear. I am going to tell you what you need to hear if we want to be the world’s leaders, not the new Romans.”

Don't know you but you now have my support. Please, say on message but don't get crazy like Ed.
Obama was a Senator as was our Sec of State. Paid for? This might be a silly question, but why do you expect a paid-for president to come out and say anything bad about a paid-for congress when both are paid-for by the same people? Except maybe Bernie Sanders, Dennis Kucinich, and Rand and Ron Paul (the latter is running for President) who else?
There is one other BIG problem that Dylan and others need to inform the American public about– The Federal Reserve Bank.
1) It's Federal in name only and is NOT a part of the government at all. Back in 1913, Woodrow Wilson sold out to an international banking cartel and gave them control of our nations currency (and Wilson later regretted it dearly). The FED is a private corporation with shareholders who are comprised of INTERNATIONAL bankers, and these international interests are in control the monetary unit of our once sovereign nation!
2) Since 1913, the US dollar has lost approximately 97% percent of it's purchasing power due to the inflationary policies of this international banking cartel operating as a private corporation under the guise of the "Federal" Reserve Bank. It is also the sole reason that we have to pay individual income taxes, which was implemented immediately after the Federal Reserve was founded in 1913.
The people of this country and the world will never truly be free as long as powerful central banks (Federal Reserve, Bank of England, European Central Bank, etc.) are in control and continue to extract wealth from the people via inflation and taxation.
Do your research on the Federal Reserve folks and get on board a movement to End the Fed and return the control of our currency to the people. Also, check out a documentary on youtube called "The Money Masters" for a good history lesson on how the bankers of the world have deliberately hijacked control of almost every sovereign nation on the planet, including the good ole USA.
NOTE: Abolishing the Federal Reserve without reforming our political system first will not work. We MUST get the special interests out of politics first, otherwise our politicians will not be capable of doing any better job than the international bankers who comprise the Federal Reserve. Congress in it's current form is obviously incapable of managing the national checkbook in a responsible manner unless they are fully accountable to their electorate and not big money special interest groups who fund their campaigns.
The founding fathers would be rioting in the streets tomorrow if they were resurrected today to see the mess that we have evolved into. They despised bankers and resisted all efforts by the bankers to seize control of the nations monetary system. And back in their day, corporations were only allowed to exist for a single project– after the project was completed the corporation was not allowed to exist in perpetuity and was required to be dissolved after completing it's short term stated objective. They would not be happy with this either, as we now have huge, powerful corporations with tremendous financial resources buying our politicians and effectively running the show in the shadows. These large multinational corporations may very will become the replacement for sovereign nations in the future. We may no longer say "I'm an American", but rather, "I am Exxon", or "I am a Microsoftie"….
END THE FED!!!!! To Big to Fail Corporations are Evil! Go Dylan!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe some of the Federal Reserve people are: the Rothschillds of England worth wait for it, !00 trillion dollars, their agents, the rockefellers worth 11 trillion dollars to name two at the top . They don't give a damn about anyone but themselves and their degenerate, criminal agenda.
I have wondered for the last few years . . . where are the students? Why are the campuses silent? Where is the indignation? Where is the anger? And, today, I listened to you in chilled awe and asked myself, "Why are you (me) so angry in silence". Dylan, I don't know if you read these comments. But if you do, please take a moment to listen to Bob Dylan's lyrics in "The Times They Are A Changin". It's becoming relevant again. As is President Kennedy's quote, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable". Thank you for the powerful beginning that you unleashed today. I pray that this moment you had goes viral throughout the world. If it does, there is hope . .
We read them all! Thanks for writing in. – Team DR
I loved this rant. Dylan you are spot on man. Just to add, I don't think you'll ever see the President go on a speaking tour to let the public know that Congress has been bought for the simple reason that the President has been bought as well. The vast majority of your elected representatives have been bought by corporate, Wall Street & mega-banking interests.
If the Congress had any guts they would've impeached the President for the Libyan war, for selling out our country by bailing out american & foreign banks, & for setting up an unconstitutional "Super" Congress which can potentially be a dictatorial coup of our nation by the banking / corporate elite.
Brilliant!! Finally someone exudes the passion and a plan to move the United States and the middle class forward. The banks and Wall Street have destroyed this country and are continuing to do so. Obama has hired the same people who destroyed our country and we'll never get anywhere with him and them at the helm. They should all be prosecuted.
Why aren't more Americans fighting back? http://bit.ly/nEK4nD
Wish more would be like Dylan. It's so refreshing to see. Keep up the Epic ranting. It's what we need to pull us through this mess.
Dylan,
Great show Tues, 8/9….
I loved your rant Dylan! Thank you so much for all your solutions over the last year! Your anger is JUSTIFIED!
DR for President!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here! Here!!!!!!
I admire his honesty first and foremost! We need more like him in the press to bring theses issues to light and force our corrupt reps to either change or get the heck out. He understands the issues and their complexities and presents them in a way that the average guy/gal on the street should be able to grasp. You know he's sincere just by the fact he does get passionate when he talks about these topics and holds back nothing. Today was one of the best moments on TV I've had the pleasure to watch in some time! Go get em Dylan it's nice to see someone working for change and watching out for the forgotten middle class!
Thanks for telling it like it needs to be. Too bad DC is on recess. Maybe Obama's group were taking notes, Naahhh, they probably forgot how to spell words with integrity and that much emotion
Thank God! Finally some honesty on television news!
Our democracy has been sold out from under us and everyone denies it.
Corruption in banking and manipulation of the stock markets and the news just ignores it.
Well done!! This is what should be reported!
Something I should have added to my previous comment…. The acceptance of people like Grover Norquist to effectively tie the hands of elected politicians fundamentally undermines democracy. Anyone who signs up to ANYTHING other than directly representing their constituents should automatically face re-election. Dylan's observations are spot on in that there is now clearly a completely dysfunctional government and it requires an unprecedented and unique response to deal with it otherwise the USA and half of the western world are going to hell in a hand-basket.
I love the way Dylan counters all his guests, panels and experts every time they try to polarize the conversation into a republican vs democrat thing. The system is rigged to give the appearance of choice based upon fundamental differences when in fact none exists. Keep up the good fight, Dylan. America needs you!
Dylan Ratigan for President?
Spot On… Right On! You Da man Dylan! Keep up the good American Work! John R.
As a member of the MAD AS HELL PARTY, I can only say that based predominantly on this video, I would vote for Ratigan in 2012. This month, August, 2011, represents the month in which I will pay my last "interest and penalties" to the IRS, totaling $72,000 for a $12,000 debt incurred in 1991. I'm killing myself in a job that cares nothing about my "quality of life" just to get rid of this debt that I see as a single drop in an ocean of Federal debt. My personal IRS issues aside, how many of you/us have read "The Creature of Jekyll Island"? (Yes, I have.) And, how many of you/us actually know *anything* about how money/politics/Federal Reserve/Congress/YOUR paycheck serve the money laundering machine of the US of A in its efforts to usurp the global economy? I know so little. I live so much. Thank you, Dylan.
On the friggin' money. Sayin what has to be said! Damn! Takin' the time to DEFINE reality!
It must start with a Constitutional amendment that counters the Citizens United case. A simple clarification that the "People" in "We the People" means living breathing coporeal human beings. Not some hypothetic entity created by business laws. Gouverneur Morris didn't create that phrase as a loophole to corrupt our electoral system.
Great rant you have hit the nail on the head!! Our banking system is corrupt and defrauding us. Our elected officials are controlled by the banks. Sounds like organized crime….is in charge of America. A problem of this magnitude seems insurmountable. We need officials and banks that care about America that can’t be bought like in the movie It’s a Wonderful Life.
I agree with most of this, especially the “bought and paid for” Congress. But, keep in mind the same goes for the President. Which is why you will never hear him or any other President speak the truth. As we stand, over 40 fund raisers to date….with a billion projected to be raised by this president, this cycle. And who gives that money? Wallstreet, GE, big corporations, Unions and in return they get lower, no taxes, are able to write regulations for Congress and even cushsy whitehouse appointments. What do we get? The pleasure of paying for it all…including the fund raising efforts. Can you say “road trip” August 15?
It's called, "END THE FED!"
Did I hear someone say TREASON–usually goes with Stupid on both sides–How about Neo Feudal? BRAVO Dylan–that is what I call JUSTIFIED ANGER instead of using what Barbara Ehrenreich called "How Postive Thinking Destroyed America" re: Issue avoidance for some imaginary scripted behavioral control freaks, don't worry – be happy stuff that produces no conflict resolution. I stand with you and use my Voice twice a week for the past 20 years talking about the same thing you raised today—YOU made my day—Mainstream Media has finally broken the Silent Sound Barrier? You have given voice to the Collective SELF Conscious of many out here who have been talking this for years–
WOW! Did anyone else feel the world pause as Truth was vibrating in the air? It is so nice to hear another voice as it rose in opposition to the operant behavior running this train wreck forward. For years I have sat and listened and been part of dialogs at the table with Rev. Strickler (The BOSS). Now I see the same response, be it a touch quieter, from Dylan. It appears that the walls of ignorance have been cracked by the echoing from the thunderous sound of one hand clapping!
Dylan Keep pounding that table! This needs to be heard by all who will listen as well as those who refuse to.
The time of coping with this crap is over.
I must say that Mr. Ratigan's wonderfully expressive and clearly passionate commentary was applauded and appreciated by those of us out here who are aware of and are incredulously watching the economic overthrow of our country and all that it stands for!!! I have been a student of Rev Strickler for 20 years, and during that time he has shouted from the rooftops to any willing to listen that this was the direction our great nation was taking. Thanks to his direction, I too have become a diligent fan of the Dylan Ratigan Show, and I was relieved as well as excited to hear Dylan put voice to the very words that The Boss (Rev Strickler) has been shouting for years. Thank you Mr. Ratigan, and please continue to fight and defend those of us who feel we do not have a voice in all this. The more aware the mainstream is made of the gross injustices being perpetrated upon them, the more likey they are to take action to become part of the solution. Thank you for caring enough to shout out the Truth.
It's called END THE FED!
This video is good but they cut the first half where obama gets a reprimand. http://youtu.be/2Z1XOBDbIy0
Way to go Dylan!! You took my breath away and had me talking to my screen today . I was in awe and what you said was so profound! You spoke for so many millions of us that are fed up with the bickering and corrupt politicians who are supposed to be fixing these problems rather than prolonging them and allowing them to fester. Both parties are at fault. The Dems are spineless and the Repubs are bullies and both want to play the blame game while filling their pockets with lobbyists money..__Keep it up!
I'm sure you got the attention of the banksters and some politicians, and that's what we need! I'm sure the powers that be aren't happy that their dirty little secrets are getting exposed, but many of us already knew. You did my heart good today!!!! You are the main reason I watch MSNBC because you speak the truth! The rest of them babble rather than get to the facts of the matter—they pander to the talking heads that play the games..Thanks, again. We ARE mad as hell!
Very few have stated this as directly as Dylan does here (except perhaps someone like Max Keiser), and certainly no one with the exposure of Ratigan. He is pointing the finger DIRECTLY at the banks and the Congress, clearing marking them as the criminals they are.
People are beginning to wake up, and I hear a lot of talk now about how perverted and troubled our economy is, and how outrageous the bailouts are, etc. But nonetheless, most people still haven't made the leap from detecting something very wrong to isolating the exact cause – again, the banks and the Congress.
There wasn't much of a problem while the banks ran the biggest Ponzi scheme in the history of humanity. The real problem occurred when it ended and, facing ruin, they extorted the Congress into fleecing every American in order to preserve their private helicopter pads. These people need to be stopped, prosecuted, incarcerated, and their "wealth" forcibly redistributed to those who rightfully earned it. This will not be easily done, but as history has shown many times, it will happen.
All of this could have been avoided in September of 2008, when these leeches of society were literally on their knees and fully exposed.
Dear Mr. Ratigan,
You are the ONLY PERSON IN MAINSTREAM MEDIA TELLING THE TRUTH!!! (Check infowars.com for truth in alt media) Yes, it's 70 trillion, so 4 trillion does nothing!!! BRAVO to you!!! Keep going!! Tell it on the mountain!! You are a real patriot and you clearly love this country and want to heal the festering wound that is the the widespread theft of this country's wealth. The scum will have to answer for their cold-hearted greed… Please keep using your soap box for good…we are all listening closely!!
qb7
The truth straight up, some will not like it, some will call him annoying, some will make fun of him, but he at least is honest, cares, and is willing to admit the truth with out sugar coating it. also some might say it isn't just on our president for reform, no it should not be just on him I agree. But heres the problem congress is bought, they will not admit being bought, they will not really try reform, and so one person with the most power in the Us that can call pretty much all major news networks into a press conference, have them listen live is the president. Making such a major announcement by a president would send a loud message and unite people behind him the American people. Yes it would disturb (put mildly) congress some or many might tweak their noses and protest they ar not bought, but have facts put together and work on an idea.. our president is our elected leader man in charge, to represent.. Instead he is being a coward and doing a poor job at present in my view.
Dylan, pardon my language, but you are the "effen" man. Out of all the blame and finger pointing going on, NO ONE is handling the problem(s) we find ourselves in as a nation. It's tantamount to an idiodic doctor who just treats the symptoms and not the underlying cause of illness. Well said and well done, sir. It should be MANDATORY viewing for everyone in Congress when they get back from break. And that should include the White House on down.
Bernie Sanders / Ron Paul 2012
Dylan Ratigan: Chairman American Populist Party
Dylan’s rant is a good start for a Platform
Dylan has it right…much more than I think he even knows…I'm reposting a comment I had written earlier…change will not come from any branch of government any longer including the supreme court…sad but very true…left to long to fester about…the american people are asleep at the wheel…we have allowed our lifestyles in this country to blind us in such a way where even common sense has no merit…our very young will not be able to save themselves once we are done destroying the very fabric of rational thinking in this country…there have been only two true democracies in human history the ancient Greek's and ourselves…look back in history…corruption…greed…intolerance and the failure to care for society as a whole…relying on capitalism in it's present form here in the U.S. holding our democracy hostage is fatal…I love nice things and being able to enjoy luxuries is a good thing…but humans are weak…we become habitual with anything that releases endomorphic pleasures…lol…we need to chill out get in touch with what's truly important so our youth will recognize social moral values that matter for all that wish to live in a true democracy…other wise…we too shall fail just like the ancient Greek's…ya gotta fight with all we have…time is short…ya can feel it…our government is broken and won't fix itself…we have to find a way peacefully but with conviction…all of our political parties are like sophisticated street gangs and are out of control…geeshhhhh this was a rant in itself.
I am tempted to fly my American flag, upside down — a universally and historically recognized SOS signal. And urge all others to do likewise. Wake up America! Pay attention America. If we don’t speak out, we are part of the problem! The silent majority can no longer be silent, uninformed, or misinformed.
These are incredibly distressing days for America. Our politicians, of BOTH parties, have clearly sold out the interests of the vast majority of Americans for their own self-interests. The debt-talk debacles PROVE IT. Our supposed representational government has FAILED US. True, conscientious, ethical leadership is absent. Infinite resources are aplenty for futile wars and the obscenely wealthy, but drastically diminishing resources and opportunity for the bulk of Americans who are just trying to eek out a reasonable, modest living.
These are NOT the principles America was founded upon. This is NOT the America my father fought and died for. This is NOT the America, that elicits pride. America, we are in serious trouble, if the bulk of Americans are even paying attention. On 9/11/01, foreign terrorists hijacked planes. For the past two decades (at least), domestic, plutocratic, economic terrorists have been hijacking our country, our institutions, and our treasury. I am ashamed and distressed — and so too should all of America.
America = Epic FAIL
Dylan is the man!
Bravo Dylan, Bravo! We need to get rid of political parties. It has been argued that most Americans don’t fit both politically and socially into a single party and they have to make decisions as to what they believe to be the most important topics and the least, then vote accordingly. It is a shame that those we vote for have proven that they care more about their own greed than their constituents.
Great idea. Set up a bank for repatriated money. Lend it out for 2% to businesses that build up USA infrastructure. TELL YOUR CONGRESSMAN.
Thanks for some hot emotion and good sense..its about time the president heard an earful in this tone.
Dylan u got it right. My son a singer/songwriter just put out his new cd. It is called "Moment of Silence" and is on itunes. You my friend should listen to it. We all need a moment of silence. You should be president. U got my vote. Keep up the fight. We need u. Go to BrentJamesmusic.com or Brent James Music on facebook. We all need a Moment of silence. Spread the word.
Clear, lucid, believable analysis. I hope the right people listen to you and act upon it.
Dylan, i think i love you
i found myself jumping up and shouting, "yes!", "yes!" i don't know exactly how this translates into any real policy change but it sure feels good to hear truth spoken so directly to power.
populist rants always gin up the sheeple frightened in the closet, Teddy Roosevelt was not my answer, and socialism will get middle-class nowhere in a big hurry, the simple truth is unbridled capitalism is the only way to recover an American dream.
Dylan – I was watching your show when you had your "fit of anger". I'm angry too. And you are correct in saying that it isn't one party's fault , it's everyone in Congress. Let's face it. All we have up there are a bunch of donkeys and elephants , and all that donkeys and elephants do is consume mass quantities (of our tax money) make loud noises (braying and trumpeting at one another) and defecate at random without any discretion whatsoever (ALL OVER EVERYONE IN THIS COUNTRY!!!). I do find it amusing that the ONLY thing they can agree upon unanimously is to vote themselves raises. That shouldn't be allowed….in my opinion , that's something we should vote on. They work for us after all. Also we should be allowed to fire a governor or senator if (s)he's not living up to our expectations , and replace him/her with someone more appropriate.
Not that it would ever happen , but I wonder how our government would respond if absolutely noone voted for anyone next year? If nothing else , it would certainly send a loud message.
I agree with all except the notion that the Congress works for America's citizens. It has been decades since they worked for anyone other than themselves, probably why they are continually running for office. The politicians are not going to give up their power. We will have to take our former power back from them.
I am planning to vote 'no' against almost every incumbent on my ballot from now on. I have followed every aspect of what is expected of an American by this country for decades. Now, I am going to do what I expect of myself as an American – fight for this country and against it's self serving politicians.
Dylan is the only commentator that makes sense to me! I love his passion and respect his knowledge. I do hope he has regular checkups with a good doctor , it would be huge loss if he had a stroke or heart attack. I am serious about this, not mocking! I'm crazy about the guy!!! "J"
Well done!! This is something I have been telling everyone who will listen even the president. We as commoners have no say due to the laws and regulations the government has implemented many years ago. They allow us to vote but not have a say that is wrong. Harshly I say fire them all and lets start over after going over what was done wrong for so many years. Cutting what the politicans make for salary is a first start. No one should get paid to sleep or play games on the job. I could rant on but I think you all get my picture.
The TRUTH of America’s state of affairs and the world was all in Dylan Ratigan’s rant. How the truth hurts! We need Washington DC to start doing their JOB and not hiding their heads in the sand. This is a very BIG issue and isn’t going away very soon. Where are the arrests for the FRAUD created
In our banking system these 20 years in the making? Where were the regulators? Where are the regulators to date? Where’s the moratorium to keep citizens in their homes from foreclosure? Especially, when both parents are unemployed. So, many questions being asked and going on deaf ears. We must wake up; before we head toward the abyss. THANKS FOR DYLAN RATIGAN. HE ROCKS!!! RUN YOUR RACE, DYLAN!!!
Dylan, When are you going to run for President and fix all these problems????
Bravo Ratigan ….. Great Passion and focus.. wake up Mr. President you need to surround yourself with more Ratigan type people…save the professorial delivery for your next job…read more about T.R. Roosevelt tactics and less about FDR's.
He is 100% right. The problem is this – why would the corrupt politicians want to change? Who can change it? If we elect someone else they will be bought within the day. I dont think anyone in congress has enough moral fiber to basically say, "Alright, I have been receiving gifts and paybacks, and political funding, and tons of cash and tax breaks for myself, but this really is killing our country and we need to stop"…there would be a 5 second pause, and then all his colleges would start to laugh at him.
Anyone care to wager that if DR's truth spouting video goes viral – the powers that be will seek to discredit and/or disgrace him…they'll starting digging around in his closet for a skeleton…that's what these types do – If you can't silence someone whose brand of truth you don't particularly care for – then dig something up that you think will shut him up. They did it to Eliot Spitzer (The Sheriff of Wall Street) but hey he wound up with his own news show!
There are almost 200 Wal-Mart stores in China. How proud must those shoppers be to see everything in the store made in their County—”MADE IN CHINA” Do you as an American beam with pride when you see everything you purchase, “Made in China?” Ask yourself – “Would I pay a penny, a nickel, or a dollar more to have those jobs return to THIS COUNTRY? You must act now. Tell the President http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact you want him to place tariffs on the Chinese products we COULD MAKE IN THE USA, so that their cost would equal what it costs to make them in the USA. This would bring OUR manufacturing back to the USA and wages would keep up. We have no choice! http://www.railroadingamerica.com
Dylan, don't pull back, "Give them Hell", be a light in the darkness of the world of bullshit and bullshiters.
Thanks
I've been watching Dylan since the beginning of his MSNBC show after hearing something new and stirring when he was on the radio and I bounded out of bed @ 6am to hear him. He's been leading up to yesterday's outrage–day after day, building the case for what's really going on in this country. I watched and listened yesterday with swelling pride that someone, at last, had the gutsyness to yell it out (I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore)–I've been thinking the very same thing lately. Maybe it was the bridge in Californea (San Fran to Oakland) being made in China and Boston Scientific, maker of medical devices (pacemakers) etc. moving to China, and other multnationals emptying jobs and resources from this country that let to his tough talk of yesterday. I am THRILLED that he came out swinging–it's exactly what we need. He'd be a magnificent president and I'm ready for him to be that person. I've been saying we needed another Harry Truman, but, Instead we got Obama.. It's not in this president to take the leadership role that we need–it was just his turn. LET'S GO DYLAN–45TH PRESIDENT OF THE US-of A
Dylan Ratigan, you are correct. If you really want to know why this is happening simply check into the plan by the "Project for the New American Century" http://www.newamericancentury.org
They've documented their plans for America and the rest of the world over a decade ago and everything has been going to plan perfectly, pretty much unchallenged. They wanted the Wall St. economic scam of 08 and foreclosure bubble. They also want to get rid of unions, borders, no taxes for the rich, no welfare for those in need; a neo-con fascist dream – everybody else's nightmare.
Regarding the newly selected Supercongress: "All six Republicans have signed a pledge to Grover Norquist's Americans for Tax Reform that they will not vote to raise taxes…" – Huff Po.
Nuff said right there. This guarantees that a compromise will fail and the triggers will be pulled, so to speak, in order to destroy Medicare and Social Security. This has all been part of the plan for over a decade by "The Project for the New American Century."
All news media outlets should be reporting this news but they're not. Many of the people involved with "The Project for the New American Century" should be investigated and probably put in jail. BTW, it was this organization who cried out for a "new Pearl Harbor" then, 9-11 happened.

"Does the government regulate Wall St. or does Wall St. regulate the government with their lobbying?"
- Alan Grayson http://freethoughtnation.com/forums/viewtopic.php…
Nothing will change until the American people themselves rise up in masses and demand change. We have the social media outlets to do this at this time in history. Let us all rise up and demand change that is meaningful and thought out. The American people themselves need a plan and a mouthpiece in the media that can express out collective discontent.
We need to be able to break through the barriers at the White House and at the congressional level. We need to use the media in the way that counters the way that the political machine on both sides have used to their advantage for the last 30 years. Media is the only way to get the truth to the people, but without a plan we are all only voices, emails, and text messages that can be easily deleted at the end of the day. We need to use television to get our truth to the masses so that the veil that covers up the lies and deciet can come crumbling down. And we need to do it as soon as possible.
Much of the media is on 'the take' too.
Well Said! We need more to speak this honest, time for a revolution!
Yes! It will soon be the time for another revolution. We revolted to take this country from the British and we can revolt again to take it back from the banks, politicians, et al. Let me know where to sign up.
Way to go Dr. Needed to be said!!!
Dylan is right on!! I believe what he is saying most of us in the USA agree with 100%!!! The big problem started YEARS ago with BOTH parties fighting against the other therefore hurting the American people and OUR country!! There is No middle class anymore only the rich and the poor. Someone HAS to take the bull by the horns and turn it around. Maybe Dylan should run for President, I'm sure he would win by a landslide!!!!
"Someone has to take the bull by the horns……" We do need a leader, but the American citizens are the only ones who can take this country back from the money interests, including the politicians. A great leader can show Americans the path and it is up to us to seize the moment. All that is required is the peaceful disruption of the entire governmental/political system short term. It can be done.
I don't see any revolutionary 'truth' in this, just angry, vague yelling. Both his problems and his solution are poorly described and unspecified. What is the 'extraction' he's referring to?
Also, we have 15 trillion in debt, where does he get 70 trillion from? And, I'm sorry to say, it's my opinion the President is just as 'bought' as the congress.
Dylan Ratigan, you are my hero. Thank you for your passionate exposure of the ROOT of our financial problems instead of playing around the edges of the symptoms. Keep telling it like it is. Deregulation has left us with the foxes guarding the hen house. Thank you Thank you – keep exposing the ugly underbelly of our crisis with the FACTS instead of opinions and political posturing.
why don't dylan radigan run for president?
Dylan, you gave a wonderful rant yesterday and of course I fully agree with you, but this hardly is new to a lot of us. As it stands, there is no way out! Powers that be, will not allow it. Our system has put us between a rock and a hard place. Our democracy , where voting for a candidate is only ratifying already preselected candidates by you know who!! So.o.o what is a possible solution to our totally dysfunctional government? They say it cant happen here…but it has happened elsewhere. A MILITARY JUNTA !!!!
What do you think?
George from Raleigh NC
Was the President watching?
YOU ARE SO RIGHT!! ABOUT TIME SOMEONE WITH SMARTS FINALLY SPEAKS OUT FOR US ALL!!
THE EVIL REPUBLICANS AND WIMPY DEMOCRATS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS!!
DYLAN SHOULD BE PRESIDENT!!!!!!!
I wish the many links to this video also had convenient sources. Without a list of supporting economists and authors this is just a rant and I can't send it around.
I suppose could link to 100 hours of Dylan talking and touring the country, but that would be self-sourcing for these claims.
And what to do about this word, Extraction? Can I Google "Extraction Krugman"? "Extraction Matt Taibi"? "Extraction Forbes"? Good language would help, with supporting pundits and articles.
And how far does this go on the spectrum? Does this echo "Disaster Capitalism" on the left? Does this echo the evils of the Fed on the right? I realize that both parties are complicit, but we need boundaries.
The overall message is too complex, but I'm optimistic. Keep it up.
Dylan,
You should start an online petition that all your followers can sign and have it forwarded to Congress.
Finally, someone had the guts to call it like it is!!!! Kudos to Dylan!! Politicians have lost concept of what this country is all about ….. EQUAL opportunity. If they really cared about this country, they would put their own political egotistical ideologies and come together for the betterment of this country and not for their own personal gains! Cut the tax loopholes, stop taking bribes from mega corporations and concentrate on bringing back our jobs …..let's get our country and our people back on track on the road to prosperity. Let's move progress, not regress. Contrats to Dylan Ratigan for expressing what many of us are feeling.
Thanks, Dylan, for ranting. We would all love to, but you've reached many, many people. Too bad you can't reach our Presient.
The "extractions" are coming at our expense for the benefit of a few.. It's disgusting and immoral.
The problem is it's also legal, and it's incognito.Who are these "few'? and why can't we turn their
gated communities into gilded cages? I wonder how these titans of industry would behave if they
looked out their windows and saw London, or Greece? It may sound like rhetoric, but I really want to
know: Dylan, why can't we start with an impromtu rogues gallery of these parasitic bastards?
BECAUSE ITS NOT ZERO SUM.. THOSE TEENAGED KIDS THROWING BRICKS IN LONDON
ARE THE RESULT OF THE" few" SAYING," HURRAH FOR ME AND SCREW YOU. "
This truly was an aha moment for those of us who are sick to death of the “status quo”!! We will no longer vote for anyone who has an agenda based on contributions or “PLEDGES”. It’s time for the COMMON SENSE party to take over. Enough of loopholes, subsidies, and FREEBIES.The day of THE OLD BOY NETWORK is over!!! It’s time these MORONS did their job and worked for those who provide their paycheck and benefits. Those who don’t can GET THE HELL OUT!!!!
I disagree with the word 'rant' which has negative connotations, as in referring to insanity. It does your passion a disservice. You are trying to protect this country, yourself and it's citizens. Since I plan to vote against 99% if all incumbents, there will be a position for you in government. You have my vote.
Thank you for yesterday's passionate comments!
Right on!
I watched your show yesterday and was infuriated. Most Americans are frustrated with our political system and care what happens to our own families. However, I can't remember any president facing such obstructionism and racism in our history. The president I believe is doing the best he can in this poisonous environment. He has to deal with congress and senate because after all this is a democracy. So unless there is something in the constitution that allows him to bypass them, he" ll have to find a way to get his plans through. Oh by the way, I believe he does have a plan. However, I'm curious to know, where were you in 2006 and 2007 when the economy and the unemployment rate were worsening. It seems strange to me that now people want to whine and complain about how ineffective Washington is when it has been this way for a long time. If you were suspended, I'm not surprised. Your behavior was inappropriate and immature.
awl
you are so right, why oh why is they calling out this president to do something, this is not starting now, what about the years of 2006, 2007 I think awleonard2 the thing Dylan should get mad as hell about is the congress saying no to everything,to see the President fail, they will sit back and let this great country fall waiting for 2012.
let's start by pegging congressional salaries to the debt. No pay if the debt is more than some % of GDP No perks at another point. All rules that congress passes apply to all citizens and all that apply to citizens apply to congress
Term limits" 2 for the Senate, 4 for the House
If Congress sits more than a given period they have to go home and pay a penalty
how about we do a fair trade and swap program…..whatever a particular country charges us to import we charge them the exact same amount for their products that are imported to our country and let the chips fall where they may. This crap that China charges us 25% to import and we only charge them 2.5% to import products is the reason we have such an inbalance. This is why are jobs are gone.
Dylan, keep telling it like it is, baby, just keep on keeping on!
Bravo! Dylan…My mouth dropped down to my ankles in amazement…truth…Bravo! Then I watched the "greedy bastards" pull a Florida voting scam in Wisconsin…the last voting district kept everyone waiting so they could manipulate a loss for the recall people; they needed 3; they got 2…thanks to Rove. How do you fight that kind of treachery…You are wonderful…I patientlly waiting for your publication. I am an old Lady…I've always fought corruption…I wept two days ago…" Those greedy bastards are controlling the country…The Bildebourg group…In all my 77 years…I have never felt so helpless…God loves you and so do I….adelle alias Pilgrim1936
Could not agree more. Our government actually provides incentives for companies to export jobs, wealth, and become a declining trade partner. The U.S. Government, for example, through the Overseas Private Investment Corporation actually provides loan guarantees to overseas banks that finance projects in developing nations (which include some pretty nice places) wherein project financing is provided by a foreign bank and the financing is secured by the government loan guarantee. In the event of default, the U.S. taxpayers pick up the tab with no recourse to the property. Can you imagine how our economy might grow if a program of this type were available domestically. I was invited into a hotel / casino project to be financed this way through a Venezuelan bank (about $110M).
I am very angry that China levies a tariff of over 20% on products imported from the U.S. yet in our wisdom, we levy a tariff of about 2% on imports from China. This nonsense must stop inasmuch as there is no possibility that we will recover from the trade deficit util we are on a level plaing field. Taxes must be shared equally.
I would have never expected such truth coming from MSNBC but if this excuse for a president and congress had half as much fortitude of Mr. Ratigan this country might have some assemblance of the country it used to be. "NO MORE EXTRACTION" ought to be the new motto for americans and starting with no more charter for the Federal Reserve. Thank you Mr. Ratigan for an honest and forthright presentation.
Dylan Your rant yesterday was magnificent. We watch your show every day and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your intelligence and vision.
DR is a Bandwagon of one!!!.
Panelists or guests never truly resonate with DR. This reduces DR to a rant.
Only written material….forthcoming…will be the road to action and validation.
What keeps others from the same "rant"????? Tell me DR!!!
I really want to know. Are they afraid of loosing their jobs or inciting violence in the streets?
Suggestion:
All over this nation a republican and a democrat should go TOGETHER to to their voter place of registration and one after the other change from their current party to Independent or whatever is required to insure that they will be able to vote in the next election. If WE, the voters got serious WE could send a message loud and clear. TOGETHER is importand so that the pathetic party pukes would know that someone else knows this transaction had in fact happened. A little blurb in the local paper couldn't hurt as evidence because as you must surely recognize integrity associated with politics is suspect. From party headquarters there would be many loud GASPs as the numbers greew. I did it.
I am now looking for a candidate with no affiliation with R or D.
you have spoken my heart. the truth is now out,we need someone to take us there dylan ratigan and bernie sanders new winning ticket, sure thing, cant lose
Excuse me, Mr. President, have you or any of your economic advisors viewed this video? If not, you are doing "We the people…." the greatest disservice ever and it is ultimately upon YOUR shoulders to be straight up with us and give us a chance experience the "American Dream" that so many believe doesn't truly exist. Watch and rewatch until you get it correct for so many that are hurting. Thank you Dylan for speaking the truth!
How can a persons who has swore an oath to GOD to perform duties for the United States of America be bound by a Pledge to some person who may or may not have the best interest of the people of this county.
How can a person who has signed a pledge to not commit to raise taxes hold to that pledge even though he realizes that there must be changes to the tax system if America is going to survive as a first rate country?
The pledge to Grover Noarquest is not an Oath. The Oath of Office is supreme to any pledge. When I voted for a Senator or a Representative I did not authorize him to make a pledge to anyone other then the people of the United States of America. This all boggles my mind.
I would have never expected such truth coming from MSNBC but if this excuse for a president and congress had half as much fortitude as Mr. Ratigan this country might have some assemblance of the country it used to be. "NO MORE EXTRACTION" ought to be the new motto for americans and starting with no more charter for the Federal Reserve. Thank you Mr. Ratigan for an honest and forthright presentation.
I caugt your comments online, after seeing Joe Scarbourough and Meka (difficult to spell, Polish name with too few vowels) pan your 10/09/11 "rant" after a partial replay, on the "Morning Joe" show today. These two had the audacity to thumb their noses at your heart felt, and very accurate, summation of some of the real bases of our current financial and economic problems. Such is the life of Big Business Republicans and Limosine Liberals, as they sip their Starbucks coffee, and cajole with sycophants. They probably look down their noses at us all ! All of your points were spot on.
Keep up the good fight, I will buy and read your coming book.
I will attemp to view your daily program on MSNBC, if they allow you to continue it !
My friend, you are a breath of fresh air.
Dylan Ratigan for president !
I felt the same way this morn,I had to turn them off. Those are the attitudes that fuel the problem.
Morning schmo is basically scarb be-littling meka all morning…mostly junk..maybe they should get off the caffein….
Dylan Ratigan is the one seminal moment of truth and honesty in our totally corrupt and bought political society. He is the one beacon of hope to get the perpitrators of America's impending doom brought to more than just accountability, but brought to justice (if that even exists anymore). My rave review for your rant, Dylan! Keep it up. Also, kudos and bravos to msnbc for finally bringing forth the anti-toxin to all the other diseased, mealy-mouthed "journalists" of cable news!
Richard Wolf
There was a similiar "rant" from the New York Stock Exchange floor back several years ago that started a movement whose goal was to "take back our country". I've always been suspect as to the agenda of the "Tea Party" and its monied interest. Your "rant" was the real deal and shocking to my senses. Here's a guy (DR) that knows exactly what has brought our country to the brink when most of us just point our fingers at others and don't seem to have a cliue. You need to tune DR in everyday and listen and learn. His rant was far more powerful and universal than any I've ever heard.
Sorry.. in the spirit of the article ; to much emotion, not enough proof reading
read: is zero sum
would you consider running as the president of our united states of america? you understand what needs to be done to turn our our country around. i'm ashamed of our government, mostly republicans, the democrats are not fighting for us either, they all would be fired , if they worked at a normal job. they would finally understand what being unemployed means. great job dylan, thank you.
Dylan, The anger and frustration you have expressed are rampant in the U.S. today!
The political lack of regard for working people is about to awake a sleeping giant !
(As seen around the globe),Im afraid the people of this country are about to take to the street !
One correction to his rant. There IS one politican that has been saying this for 4 decades. Ron Paul.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxHkNNPou-Q&fe…
right on!
Dylan — You're our hero, our spokesperson. I only wish that the President would take your advice. Keep up the great work.
Dylan Yes you were mad as hell, but i must tell you I wish our politicians were at least as half as mad and half as right as you are ! Dylan for president?
Ron Paul 2012!!! He has been saying this for 30 years!!!! Dylan for VP!!!
Bah…. just more faux outrage for the ignorant TV masses. Wonder when people will wake up and realize that they're being played for fools?
This is the first time I've heard anyone really hit the nail on the head. Our government is corrupt! Great job Dylan!!!
I have read thoughtful and intelligent views today on this blog which have added to my understanding of our unity as Americans..
The past is written in stone and cannot be changed. So, why do we point our fingers to the past and blame it for our woes? As we point to the past, we forfeit our energy to live and create change. The future is yet to be written and can only be speculated upon. As each of our today's becomes the past , they will be forever written in stone.. Today is the only day and moment in time over which we have any sway. We may take action today, seize the moment and act or wait for our government/money/politicians, etc. to pull the plunger. We are in the toilet and no one is going to pull us out of this mess other than Americans uniting.
That was beautiful Dylan, and thank you.
I do not always think Dylan hits the nail…but this is a powerful rant…I love it. WE HAVE TO GET THE MONEY OUT OF OUR POLITICS and DC. We need to save democracy.
Public Campaing financing
reinstated Glass Steagall
Impeach Clarence Thomas
Bring back the fairness doctrine
Change trade policies to make them bring our jobs back home (gut NAFTA, GAFTA and WTO)
Make the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
Then maybe.
It's up to us. We can either sit in the comfort of our little houses with computers in front of us or we can march on DC. Guess what we're not going do?
its great to listen to the plain truth on corporate news, the only guy with integrity on tv.
Although it all sounds nice, and there are good points raised, Obama or any president would be a complete idiot to do anything like what is being said.
First, every single congressperson would claim the president is trying to take over the country, is going to declare martial law, is destroying the Constitution and the branches of government.
Second, their constituents would believe their congressperson, after all, the average American believes their person is right, everyone else is wrong.
Third, if Obama tried it, there are enough idiots in this country, that would believe every single bad thing about him, that they wouldn't believe him and would go after him with torches.
And finally, the "too big to fail" financial institutions would go after the president with every financial means at their disposal, and would totally destroy whoever was president.
Good points, not very well thought out, and definitely something that would never happen.
, first of all I have wrote this comment on my face book in the year of 2010, if this situation don't come to the fore front this great country will Fail, It is coming true.. What you should be mad as Hell about is the real reason why congress is not doing anything, banks not making loans. Gov. of red states not taking stimulus to create jobs in they state,. The election of President Obama in many of people mind was a wave shock mostly to the republican party, no to most of white politician, most of these people that want they country back will go to the break of seeing this great country go to hell waiting for 2012 come. to get this black man out of the white house. I say to you what will you be mad as hell about when this want happen in 2012,because this country will not be able to stand these people saying no just to see this man fail..this is the real deal. some of the host on msnbc have said very little about this, you should stop dancing around the the real problem and get it out in the open, you know this is in the back of everybody mind, so if you want to get mad about why this country is a fraud , lets get the real reason out in the open.
I wrote on my face book in the year of 2012 If this situation don't come to the fore front this great country will fail it is coming true.. because they want to see the president fail, It most be very hard for people to see this man in the white house.
YES!! We need to see more of this from the news media to wake people up! Thanks Dylan!
Dylan ! you're my hero !! I have been having this conversation with my wife for 10 years, I too mentioned exactly what I have seen happening to the unions and middle class which results in a basic takeover of our nations wealth and that it was a simple problem to fix not complicated just complex and there is a difference, the complex part is mans doing , the both houses add this complexity in oprder to steal money Period whether it be from lobbyists or the US it's still stealing it amounts to those that represent us , NOT representing US, but representing their own personal interests that amount to them personally having bigger bank accounts…Suffice it to say you can't fight a Class War if none of you show up….. I have bought up all the flat black paint available locally, so when the class war starts don't think for a moment I didn't show up…you just might not see me….
Death to Tyrans and Dictators, whatever Cloak they profess to wear
All people in America should come together and start the revolution in 2012. No fing way should this evil president be elected to denigrate Americans and decimate the economy until there is nothing but people on welfare everywhere in the country. Do Americans care for America. Waving a flag and singing the national anthem isn't patriotism. Patriotism requires JUSTICE and ACTION.
Right now we have neither. Obama wants to create a poor working class U.S. Right now the fastest growing jobs couldn't buy subway tokens. Patriotism is standing up by the millions and not taking this crap anymore from an highly ignorant ____ president .I'm so angry that it takes huge losses for people to be angry enough to protest. A person such as Obama should've never been elected in the first place. I blame the young people of my generation for being convinced of someone who spews rhetoric and ideology and demonstrates nothing. They learned their lesson the hard way with no jobs. No action by Obama .just hypocrisy and spin and all the backdoor dealings, cronies, and phonies (a class of which he fits in well ). NO MORE B.S. Time to take away the shit and usher in a better way of life. Come on PEOPLE!
Just watch the movie Capitalism A Love Story by Michael Moore and see the disgusting things that happen behind corporate America. It will leave you angry and disgusted guaranteed.
i dont know as much as other people but, i am sicken by the state the people whom are elected to goveren and protect the common intrest of the masses. I am sure It would no be hard to prove that there are civil servents that hold office which should be locked up for holding intrest other than of its people. While i can understand that the presadent hasent done as much as most would or could have wished for but anyone whom is not blind could and can clearly see that there are many republicans that have blocked and still to now plan to block progress. While the country is in distress we have morons ranting about succeeding from the country, while we also have poiltians making realty tv shows and movies, i wish to stop a min and say what the fuck is that are you retarded you hold a postion to govern and you idley missuse your postion. You openly bad mouth peoples wives that take roles of support. There is poilcy i wish we could fix and it starts we the reversal of policy ronald reagan done or i gess more acuratly would be the deregulation of american policy set down by this past republican presadent and each of his predasesors. for more information refer to: Inside Job – it is a documentry
Arizonan, here! Mr. Ratigan, you have my full support and even my vote should you decide to run for Presidency!
I wish I know more about this. After watching :The Inside Job" I still do not understand how so much blatant corruption was allowed and then allowed to continue for so long. After our economy was diestroyed and people lost their jobs and houses, NOTHING HAPPENED. Not being satisfied with just ruining the economy, they are destroying the planet, polluting the food supply. The democrats just sit by while the wacko tea party creates more havoc. I always had this feeling their is something we don't know. Maybe Dylan has answers? If so he may be the only one who can save us
Finally someone has the guts to tell the truth. Now let's move forward and fix this fiscal mess. Shame on all the greedy corporations willing to take this country down for a few bucks. We fought back in Wisconsin, and we will take Walker down next, and continue to REKLAW (Walker backwards) until we get it right…..big money, hate, greed, crooked campaigning, misplaced trust of the pro-lifers, party politics, and most of all the apathy of the American people let ALEC and like groups create the TEA PARTY DOWNGRADE and the TEAPOT RECESSION now in progress.
When it's righteous as your rant was it brings clarification. Now I need more education on the particulars as your follow up on the phone indicated. I will post any link to this sort of material on my blog. You are a brilliant and necessary function right now. Kudos.
DR is a Bandwagon of one!!!.
BUT, keep it closer to reality by thinking through the solutions.
I don't want to wait until the book comes out. Develop some articles with point -counterpoint views.
Put together your own economic advisory counsel. I like: Felix G. Rohatyn
Jasper, DR said that we the people of the US pay to lower prices for everything. He stated on one show, that we should be paying $15.00 a gallon for gasoline, do you agree?
Dylan and Christie should run in 2012
I agree with you 100%. Keep it up!
I agree with you!
FINALLY SOME HONESTY! GIVE THEM HELL RATIGAN!
You've been one of my Mom's favorite commentators since the CNBC days. Now you are one of mine.
You go Dylan, we need you to run as an independent, and we need to get as many independents as we can into office and let the dems and repubs know that we don't have to put up with them, because the constitution gives we the people, the rights in this country, and it is time to put a stop to these crooks trying to change the constitution to fit their ideology.
Looking at trends from history I wonder if current events in the U.S. could be our payback for WWII. Could this whole mess simply be coincidence converging from every corner? Is the current dysfunction afflicting virtually everything a question of greed or of using money to creat chaos and destroy what you hate. It appears there are sellouts among the Democrats, Republicans and the Supreme Court so my question is WHAT IS THEIR PAYOFF? Is it simply control, is it simply money? Most of these people have plenty of both – seems to me there is something more at stake here.
I work 70hrs a week just to keep my household above water. Im blessed with good health never take a day off just go to work every day. Never get a break like the rich do , because I have no voice. I agree with you that our goverments voice is bought and paid for.Special Intrest dictates aii policies. Dylan you stand for TRUTH, JUSTICE, AND THE AMERICAN WAY, so put on your cape and LEAD US THERE
DYLAN, I KNEW YOU WERE HOWARD BEALE REALIZED WHEN I HEARD YOU ON FAST MONEY TALKING ABOUT THE BANKSTERS! I WAS SO ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED –I RECORD YOUR SHOW EVERY DAY! YOU ARE 90% CORRECT. THE ELITE: THE BANKSTERS, THE FED, THE FINANCIERS, THE PENTAGON, THE DEFENSE CONTRACTORS AND THE 400 WEALTHY AMERICANS ARE STEALING, LOOTING THE NATION! EXTRACTING WAS A MILD & POLITE WORD.
IF THEY DONT FIRE YOU AS THEY FIRED JENK, PLEASE INFORM EVERYONE ABOUT HR 1489, GLASS-STEAGALL ACT OR MARCY KAPTUR'S RETURN TO PRUDENT BANKING ACT OF 2011. WORLDS ECONOMY NEEDS THIS DESPARATELY AND WE NEED YOU, ONE OF THE FEW ANCHORS WITH INTEGRITY. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
The offshore oil exploration steering committee comprises Halliburton, Shell, Chevron, and has, in the past 15 months, worked to reverse EPA decisions and compliance rules.
In April, news reports told voters this drilling was blocked; yet, world oil and Alaska Oil Exploration have reversed that promise! The latest (04 August announcement –which you don't see in headline news anywhere–by BOEMRE, a subset of EPA) APPROVES and INCREASES the exploration to 4 wells! I disapprove of the August 4 press release in which BOEMRE grants conditional approval for NEW offshore exploration and drilling in the Arctic. The "escalation" in favor of Big Oil is shown in the links below.
I hold congress responsible to the US voters, and not the Offshore Steering Committee, which by the way does not have a single member who is not associated with big oil! Wrong rule writers, wrong representation! I sent this to Maria Cantwell, my senator who is on the energy subcommittee.
Speak up about this! Even the decisions we learn about are reversed (quietyly behind our backs, as the Wall Street bailout payback was DISMISSED by the Supreme Court a year ago, as the ARCO oil cleanup in AK 20 years ago has dragged on all 20 years, and is less than 10% of original fines)

Keep putting the TRUTH out there Dylan. Your intermingled frustration and passion was totally understandable, because as long as you've been enlightening us on the REAL problems facing our country, the majority have remained in denial . Please continue your great work in educating us with what needs to happen to restore the workings of democracy in this country. Thank you!!
It is indeed entertaining. But he wants a president who essentially bought his position with the largest campaign spend ever seen, by a factor or two, to come out and say *Congress* is bought?
Dylan, why don't YOU run for president? You'd have MY full support.
Glad, no elated, to finally hear someone in the media say what we all know to be true. Sir please do not apologize for your passion. You never lost control of your thought or manners. You gave the kick in the butt that is long past due, and you said it succinctly and truthfully. Congratulations on being a reasoned voice for Americans.
I am happy that finally someone in TV have the courage to tell the truth. I hope that those that viewed the show can awake and take action.
Hi,
We will not end this exploitation by voting for a corrupt two-party system that has bring us to this level of decadence. We have only two choices: Create a real party of the people – not the tea party – or go to the streets and begin asking what belong to us by the force. At this moment, I am not sure the american people are prepare for neither. We have become complacent even in our own failure. Dylan, stop bringing those consultant that keep repeating the same stupid story and political analysis; bring to your show regular and real people like me, that can tell the truth and might help awake the rest from thir slump.
Thanks,
Carmelo Colon
This will never happen until we have term limits
I loved every minute of that! why, oh why can't we get other TV spoke holes to say it as well!! Do it again daily until its heard throughout the country!
We need to take our country back from the banks and corporations. I am sick of how this country is being screwed by the people with power and money. We are being screwed in the a** worse and worse each day. I'm trying to raise four kids and they see how screwed up it all is. Wall Street and the Bankers are a farce. Goldman Sucks and their Ilk are destroying us and giving NOTHING back in return. I'm sick of our politicians on both sides kiss the big fat butts of corporate America. YOU represent US, not the Egotistical, Arrogant, Greedy bankers and corporations.
Good analysis of a serious political problem, Dylan. Problem is it's much easier to define a problem than to solve it. Creating an infrastructure bank is a step towards socialism and away from capitalism. Repatriating money invested outside the US is another step towards socialism.
Yes we did it (during, not after) WWII, but that was because after Pearl Harbor the congress (almost unanimously) gave the president permission to imposes a socialist system on the whole country – especially large companies involved in 'war work'. Union wage scales were imposed, profits were limited, manufacturing facilities were commandeered, rationing was imposed – not to mention the military draft. We created a socialist-controlled economy. And the enormous budget deficit was ignored – a lot of it was underwritten by workers.
Can you imagine a president able to get congress to back a socialist agenda today?
I agree with everything you said. I jumped up and yelled, "you tell them." What bothers me is that nobody has a good idea. Nobody has a plan that will help people like me. I have an idea. SHARED SACRIFICE they talk about it alot. What if we all worked for one dollar a day until the dedt was paid off. Everyone would have to cooperate, banks, corporations, goverment, ballplayers EVERYBODY who can sacrifice. My point is that we work becuase we love AMERICA, we play because we love AMERICA! SO hopefully over a period of time, the debt will be paid off and we can all get on with our lives. This is a situation that needs to be fixed, everyone is suffering because of it.
Yeah….! Ratigan for President! He understands what's happening & has figured out a way to fix it! More than I can say/see Obama doing. Obama has no cajones for the req'd fight to get the country back in right direction. This is not the 'CHANGE' we believed in when we all believed him.
Reclaim our America, and practice RID, Republicans, Independents, Democrats – vote them all out of office as each term expires. We don't even have jobs & they take 1 month vacations as if they were Europeans plus getting nearly 200K @ year Bull Shit! Lest put an end to the crap. Campaign finance reform NOW!
Dylan, you've spoken for me and probably many others. It was the single most encouraging moment in television since… I don't know when. All of our old, good reporters are retired or dead.
I've been so worried for my kids that I put together a web site. I've added you. Your rant's gone viral. http://www.spookyeconomy.com
I hope to add you to my "heros" page one day. Keep at it. Don't mess it up.
I hope your network doesn't give you grief, but if they do, I hope your fans follow through. I'm not going anywhere else. Where would I go?
Great to tell it like it is. We need selfless leaders to change the system. Another needed change, in addition to no more private campaign contributions and a move to equal access public campaign funding, & an end to the party systems are some standards and cultural change in campaign mud-slinging & propagandizing, and once we have our leader in place, a full, team members on working with the leader to make the country function its best for all citizens, not just special interests or the 50% of the population who supports the sitting party, rather than blocking any attempt at "progress" till they oust the present leader.
Mr. Ratigan's piece on healthcare on the site also tells it like it is…why on earth are we (no, not we the people, 80% of which want it left alone in addition to SSA that we PAY for, but some off-base politicians) talking about dismantling Medicare/Medicaid and blocking cheaper public options and health insurance regulation, rather than getting at the root of the problem of high costs in our for-profit healthcare in this country, namely med patents, liability law, monopolies, administrative, etc. If the rest of the world can provide 50% more coverage to its citizens at 50% less the cost than we do currently with good quality, (not all have to wait for access), then so can we.
Dylan is right with his point but wrong with his remedy, unfortunately until the money behind the congress is gone the president will be just a good speech giver. The american people are some dumb. They really believe the president makes laws. As our "Good Friend Grover Norquist"(HAHA) states they want to make it so a democrat has to govern as a republican.
I totally agree. Money is corrupting Politics.
However, there is more than Money.
Politics itself is corrupting system.
Our government is great, if you can just get the politics out of it.
There is a way to have our government which offers all of the benefits, without ANY politics.
1. Individuals vote, (secret ballets) but only vote for the individuals from their own communities, that they know are honest, responsible, wise, and serve the best interests of the public.
2. Campaigning is NOT allowed! If you campaign, you are removed from the voting list.
3. Those with the most votes are elected.
4. You end up with honest people instead of what we get now…
self serving politicians, who lie to get elected, then do whatever it takes to get re-elected at the expense of the common man. The politicians get rich. We get poor.
5. This would also remove the corrupting influence of corporations buying politicians for their special interests.
Right on right on right on!!! My whole family in PA here standing up and cheering! Keep it up!
It's been a complete mystery to me over here (Norway) how the American public -entirely- avoids talking this, which in my opinion is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest story of the last 3 decades in USA.
The upper 10% and to an even bigger degree the upper 1% and upper 0.1% has siphoned off essentially all of the growth over the last few decades. And nobody seems to think it's worth doing anything at all about.
To go from lowest quintile to highest quintile here in Norway, requires multiplying your income by 5. To do the same trick in USA, required multiplying your income by 18. The GINI-index in USA is higher than all other comparable countries (wealthy democracies), and it's growing rapidly.
And nobody does anything, or even talk about the problem.
Many of the rich, in the USA can't believe today, that they are rich enough. For many in this country, greed has become the new norm. The rich don't seem to count their blessing, for being allowed to acheive their nest egg. Their greed make them want to stump more people under their feet. This is the country (USA), where the rich get richer, and the poor gets poorer.
Greetings, Just listened to you and Gov. Rendel (Sp?) on 8.17 discussing online petition for constitutional amendment for eliminating the "buying of our government". Go For it, Jimmy. And count me in.
Now while we are at it, let's look at amendments to bills. It is anathema to legislatures but let's try for Parlimentary application which is no amendment can be added to a motion unless it is germane to the motion. Why do we have a stupid situation in our Congress where anything can be added to a bill in order to buy one's vote to pass the main bill? If we are going to get our government to operate with common sense and any semblance of a business attitude ( not to mention patriotism, loyalty to one's country and honor; oh, an compliance with the oath of office) we must address this abuse.
Thank you, Dylan, for the work you do.
A faithful viewer
Your proposal to create a constitutional amendment prohibiting money in the electoral process ia part of a solution I have been calling for , for a long time. In addition to the money issue, we should limit the president to one term of 5-6 years and plave constitutional term limits on all other offices.
I doubt our "Founding Fathers" envisioned "professional politicians', when they created the constitution.
At the end of your program, yesterday 8/16, I e mailed my representive and senators in support of such an amendment.
Thank you for your support
I think it's time we sued ALL the news media outlets, except Dylan's show, for NOT telling the American people the truth for the last 70+ years! The government has been in bed with the banksters for a lot longer than 2 decades, and we are experiencing the result of a dumbed down public. There are only 545 people running the government (congress and whitehouse) and a handful of banksters pulling the strings. THERE ARE 310,000,000 OF US!!!! Get off your asses America and start the movment to take back our country, from those that are trying to steal it from us and throw us all into poverty.
We need to sue the government for fraud and corruption, theft, treason (stealing the gold back in 1933) and forcing us into slavery to the banksters, by paying interest on our own money. Where are all the real lawyers with balls? It is almost too late. Are you going to wait until they send us to the concentration camps? Because they'll send the lawyers too, after they don't need you anymore to help them take our houses. Property is our right! Without it, what do we have? Every state should cancel the bogus contract they signed with the Federal government to help them in their bankruptcy in 1933 and sucede from union, as the government is not working for the good of the union anymore.
Dylan
You are the man we have been waiting for. There are many intelligent Americans out here that are angry and frustrated, despite the likes of a Bill Maher who weekly calls Americans "stupid".
We are your Alliance. You are our Leader. The American Peoples Alliance.Yeh!
Dylan
You're the guy we've been waiting for. We are your Alliance. The American Peoples Alliance, and you are our Leader.
Dylan
You're the man. I cheer as I watch you. Thank you for coming to the aid of all the intelligent, caring people at this site who verbalize the anger and frustration that millions of Americans feel, but have no where to turn.
We just needed a Leader. I believe you're it. I have called and left many messages for you. I believe you are golden. Let's get on with the work. First the Amendment. Tell us what we need to do. We'll do it and spread the word to others. We can get it done. Yes, there's so much to do, but this needs to be done first. Let's all focus.
Thank you, Dylan!
Thank You!! for being honest! I just wish the rest of the media could find the courage and moral fiber to report the truth. The lean forward catch phrase is a joke I am a registered Dem. and have seen nothing but a liberal agenda from the MSM I will not vote for Obama again as he has proven that at the end of the day he is a paid for POLITICIAN!! DEMS & REP. = paid for politician. I think Ron Paul is going to get my vote because he seems to be the only Politician willing to do the peoples bidding. Or throw them all out and start with a clean slate!

HEY DYLAN,WE NEED YOU AND JIMMY IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!
I heard this idea from Chris Matthews.. i thought it wa s BRILLIANT! look at all the republicans PORK and other interests they always wanted.. collect them all and put a jobs bill together with those plans.. bridges, roads, infrastructure..etc.. make it LARGE one for as many unemployed you can get working..
Let see there republicans vote NO on these favorites lol Laura Novak
Well done Keep up the Good work.
Right on Dylan! Our time has come!
Thank you Dylan, keep it up. Run for president or go prime time. You need a bigger a voice so you get more exposure to a bigger audience. Everyone needs to hear you.
I've heard the tired refrain from the Republicans ''We can't raise taxes on the job-creators" … OK, show me the jobs and we won't raise your taxes. Try this formula:
Every taxpayer making more than $250,000 a year or more, gets a tax hike of say $10,000 (a formula would determine the exact amount). Then for every job they create, the income tax generated by the new job, goes back to the "job creator" … until his $10,000 is repaid. So, in sum, there is no tax hike for the job creator but the jobs have to be created first. After the money is repaid, it all goes to the U.S. Treasury to help support the struggling-for-cash programs.
Corporations are not people. Money is not speech. Politicians who receive money outside their geographical boundaries are not working for their Constitutional constituents. Get the money out of politics.
OK, one little idea. When we subsidize something, let's make sure it is really something we want more of. We subsidize agri-business. We want food, right? But we subsidize agricultural products which are SOLD. Products that cause health problems. Do you ever wonder why this poor quality food is shoved down our throats? Do you wonder why a minimum wage single mom feeds her kids such crap? It is more expensive to eat healthy. Why shouldn't we subsidize fruits and vegetables instead of sugar? Why shouldn't we subsidize legumes instead of meat? Why shouldn't we subsidize school cafeterias well enough to cook real food from scratch? If we are going to pay the private sector to do something, let's make sure it is something that is good for us, not just for them.
Thank you Dylan! We all need to do what we can to take the money out of politics. The state should control capitalism and not the other way around. We [all of us] will never be safe to live the way we wish or count on any future at all until we reform the corrupt and dishonest system that has taken over not only Washington but also our State and local governments.
Ihave been saying for 40 years that lobbist should not be allowed on the growns . Of the white house or be invoved with any polition. any time any where they can not tell me or anyone else not even there selfs. that the money they give out has no influents on there vote .THATS A JOKE!!!!!!!! who are they trying to foul. and they can not tell me they can not stop lobbyist……………………when banner was caught handing out oil checks on the house floor that should tell you something there did they do anything about it no no no no ……. that tell you something there. do away with lobbyist……………..
If oil was $60 a barrel would we be in this mess? Its all about oil!
Dylan, I/we need a visual flowchart of the worlds financial system, one that anyone can understand.
SHOW people whats happening to their future enough times(flowchart) and you might start a groundswell of UNDERSTANDING. This is a key, do you want 100 million signatures or 100 million pissed off people.
SHOW how the discount window works starting with taxpayer money going into the treasury below and so on. I know most people still don't understand the system enough or their would be 100mm people with pitchforks surrounding the Capitol building! Thanks Dylan, you da man.
Mr. Ratigan not only understands the problem, but he explains it so well that the average layman can get a grip on the problem.
Keep it up, get the Amendment written and let's get this thing rolling.
Russ Feingold, former senator from Wisconsin, current founder of PROGRESSIVES UNITED, has been working to stand up to the exploding corporate influence in our political system by organizing and amplifying the voices of those who believe that corporations have too much power, and by promoting solutions that ensure individual rights and democratic principles are upheld to the highest standards, even in the face of the lawless Citizens United Supreme Court decision.
Please navigate our site and join our grassroots movement to counteract this destruction of our democracy.
We have been working to educate the public about the corrupting effects of the corporate dominance of our political system. We will call out corporations, CEOs, lawmakers, and the media when they exploit their power to act against the best interests of the American public.
http://www.progressivesunited.org/home
I just pray that this country does not go to hell in a hurry. We need the people to voice their opinions to those who are suppose to be representing us. If he can get an amendment written I would be the first to sign it.
I'm glad that somebody feels the same way I do. We should FIRE everybody in Washington and start over. Now, it is very obvious it is so corrupted. It has been for a long time. The poor Americans and middle class are in NO WAY RESPONSIBLE the mess we have. We were not asked what we thought or what we wanted. We have NO MONEY and therefore no voice. This country is run by the rich and they are VERY GREEDY. Every RICH PERSON IN THIS COUNTRY WHO HAS OFF SHORE ACCOUNTS SHOULD BE KICKED OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have our sons fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan so that our so-called leaders can act like a bunch of fools. VERY SAD. People who run this country have NO IDEA what the American people want. Just because you have money does not give you a "BRAIN".
Not one politician?? Um, Ron Paul?
DYLAN
I think your right on with your efforts.I agree with all you are saying about big banks, the tax code and our Government not doing anything about our plight.
I would like vary much to join the crusade and be on the side of the people.
I also think you should run for a public office of some kind.A long with running, people like Chris Mathews, Jim Cramer, Jimmy Williams all of which would good for our country to get back on track.
We need common sence not stupidiy. Our Congress has but us all in a dilemma we shoulded be in. We should look for ways to recall all of them.
I agree with Jimmy Williams, ( you take the money out of politics our problems would be cured).I will keep watching your show for more knowledge because knowledge is the people's power.
Sincerely Submitted,
Ron Butler

The radical and illegal decision of the Supreme Court's Citizen United decision was mainlly funded by not only the infamous Koch Brothers, but by the DeVos family. They are the Amway Corporation family. The mother Elsa spawned the demonic Eric Prince of Blackwater. I wonder what ring of hell they're destined for..
If you want 200,00 by October. check our MOVEON.ORG. They accumulated bloggers then set up e-mails with a pledbe to sign to send to congress wieh your message. They also organized regional town meetings and sent out e-mail dates and times to meet. That is why so many were in Wis. protesting.
To do a constitutional amendment on limiting donations- great idea to give congress a scare.
I will send you a Moveon.org e-mail if you wish. I shows how the pledge is and other information to start.
OK America! How bad does it have to get before you do something?
Dylan for President! Please run Mr. Ratigan, you've got my vote!
The truth to power is always painful to those in power. Do you still have a job, Dylan? Or will you, like Keith and Cenk, be forced out? If so, Current TV will certainly be gracious enough to recognize your intellect and give you a new show. MSNBC is obviously dealing with a glass ceiling that suppresses their most talented from being truthful and critical of today's most serious issues. Never desert your own personal base. The world depends on you.
Dylan; you keep saying our Congress has been bought. But I ask you don't you think that our budget deficit exploding is a bigger threat to your children, when we can't pay our bills and we become the United States of Insolvency probably within 10 years if we don't change course quickly. I remember 10 years ago Secretary Snow warned congress than Freddie and Fannie were headed towards insolvency and Congressman Barney Frank said that was ridiculous and Freddie and Fannie don't need any more regulation. Do you think Congressman Frank was bought. Well anyway, I like watching your show because you're so smart and I like watching you get animated.
Dylan, since you know all of this country problems, why want you become the country hero, and save us? Please tell me how many jobs you our great saver has created? Some days I can't stand your mr prefect man talking points. If I have to change the TV channel from MSNBC, it's because of your insisting conclusion, that president O is the blame for all problems, even the one's the nation had before his birth.
The most basic issue, the truth, is the problem. It is amazing in the evolution of the electromagnetic spectrum called television cable satellite, we have political persons that widely refuse the progress in science with technology. Just incredible. One talking point, that is an out right lie, that journalism has known for decades, is this Ronald Reagan guy as being the best Republican ever.
From my view Reagan breached the Constitution, and violated his oath of office at least once if not more in the Iran Contra Scandal. this, a widely publicized allegation or set of allegations that damages not only the Republicans but our whole system of international issues and money laundering. Reflecting back, and you must understand I voted Republican twice for Reagan, now rethinking through my thought are this:
Besides the money laundering political stuff, when Reagan fired the Air Controllers because of union issues it was a violation of the first amendment. From my view the Constitution's first Amendment is a collection of rights that currently are shredded by the Republican Politicians and the Media.
Everyone has the right to assemble in peace, speak freely, list grievances and submit them to the government. It is clear now that the Republican and the media successfully knew with intention and is complicit to bust the first amendment. Now currently with world money influence is doing the same with the help of our supreme court.
Obama now being in the middle of this political flux getting clobbered by poles and index matters that he could not possibly have started, is with a good conscience in no need to panic. Very much the other way around dealing with not free fall but the gravitas of the Bush era, and that includes all that up to and including Prescott Bush. If Americans knew how connected Bush is to the Arab's, and industry he would never been elected president. However, he should be exposed for war profiteering and war crimes that are obvious in many books, two as by Russ Baker's family secrets and Gerald Posner's book Secrets of the Kingdom.
Dylan – the answer to this whole mess is term limits. There needs to be a national movement to impose sorely needed term limits. Why/how can congress be allowed to do nothing positive for the country and no one says enough! Let me be the first. Enough!
count me in too—-i reviewed your rant [i had seen it when it happened], but wanted to remember it better—–you are and was absolutely RIGHT about EVERYTHING you said—–so, make my vote be one of [sure to be ] many—–i am a true fan of you dylan—–you know, when someone makes 'perfect sense' about something and you nod your head up-and-down while they're talking????——-that's what you are to me——i thank you for the VOICE you supply to the 'play'——i'm every hopeful that the many are listening too so we can 'get on' with DOING WHAT MUST BE DONE!!!!! eileen in maryland
Jobs disappearing? What about outsourcing by our largest companies allowing them to lay off thousands. Also paying 25% tax on exports and charging 2% on imports. You're right on.
It appears that we have entered a new age of CORPORATE EXTORTION. Remember how it was described the "Mob" used to extort neighborhoods for protection…well..the corporations have done them one better.
I recall recently an Illinois corporation demanded a tax rebate and even cash from the state in order to NOT RELOCATE THEIR BUSINESS OVERSEAS. @##$?
I have heard info to the effect that a number of American businesses take the stance that they should not have to pay for roads, traffic lights, bridges etc. since they are doing the USA a favor by keeping their companies here in America.
An attorney mentioned recently that the way to keep companies here and/or return them to American soil was simple: place high tariff taxes on all incoming goods to the USA…that would make it cheaper to do business on US soil.
Our government could do something if it had the guts and wasn't under corporate control and that is PLACE TARIFFS ON ITEMS WHICH COULD BE MADE IN THE USA UNTIL THEY COST THE SAME AS IF THEY WERE MADE HERE. We are making the Communist Chinese great while we are circling the drain. Chinese goods are not cheap when you factor in the borrowing we do to keep our nation going. If we can make it in the USA, we should, if not, import it. Why is it OK to get off of foreign oil but not foreign goods.
We have a choice – the Chinese or America. My website – railroadingamerica.com PS – NO politician is talking about forcing American manufacturing to return to the USA – We are loosing trillions $ each year we wait. If we don't start making things in the USA (and I don't mean borrowing money from China to fix a bridge) we are done for.
I suggest that we require all people that get paid by taxpayer money , instead of taking a worthless oath, sign an employment contract! If it was good enough reason to force us to pay aig bonuses, et al , it should be used to stop, by contract, some or all corruption. forget what the supreme court says, simply put it in the contract that if you do anything that doesn't pass the smell test, you're out, no retirement benefits, medical, or waiting for the next election only to get more of the same corruption as the last guy.
Bullying has become a theme in America. The banking industry and Wall Street ‘bullied’ Grandma and Grandpa out of their homes, stole their retirement plans and forced the middle class into poverty levels- unprecedented. This was only possible when in 1999, congress voted on REMOVING President Roosevelt’s “Glass-Steagall Act”, which separated banks, insurance and stock trading from each other. They were originally separated by Roosevelt BECAUSE of the Wall Street Crash during the Great Depression. WHY were those safety nets removed? WHO were the Bullies that got rid of the safety nets? Who were the Bullies victims? WHY have these bullies been allowed to get away with it? Some of the victims are protesting on Wall Street, trying to stand up to those that Bullied them. Now they’re being bullied (with mace and abuse) by the police who were sworn to serve and protect them. Bullying must stop…at the TOP. Reinsert the Glass-Steagall Act, hold bankers accountable, and leave the demonstrators alone. They’re just upset at the bullies.
CAN YOU PLEASE FIX THE GET MONEY OUT OF POLITICS SO PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN A HOUSEHOLD CAN ALL SIGN UP? THE WAY IT IS SET UP NOW , ONLY ONE PERSON PER IP ADDRESS CAN SIGN UP.
Thank you Dylan, their are a lot of us have been wanted to get money out politics, with
you and Jimmy it can happen and I am in it for the long haul their are things worth flighting for
and if we the citizens have the numbers, so lets roll.
Dylan Ratigan is, in my book, already an American hero. Why in the world doesn't MSNBC repeat his very crucial program, just like they do all the rest….why are they so cautious about truth telling. They doomed Keith Olbermann to an obscure news audience, and so help us all, they'd better not lose Dylan's voice, for Dylan truly speaks for the people. Dylan, you are brave, brilliant, spot on in what you say every day. God bless you and keep you safe, because we desperately need your voice, whether it is in the present format, or if you were to run for public office. Fight on truth teller, fight on. There are some of us out here who do have your back.
Both my husband and I would like to sign the petition. How do we do it? We could not agree more that we need to take the money OUT OF POLITICS. This would include money for campaigns AND getting rid of all these lobbyists. It is OBSCENE the amount of money spent. Big business states they can't afford to hire but they can certainly afford these huge campaign contributions and their lobbyists. I have just turned 65 and was part of the silent majority. No more! I wish I could join the protestors but I live too far away. Please advise me how I can help.
Sincerely,
Margaret Marlowe
DYLAN… You've had him on your show before with a guest host. Tim Cox with GOOOH.com is what you are talking about! No special interest money, no party money – citizen selected representatives… So simple they started a country that way!
Dylan we all need to get engaged and raise hell with you this is our country and we let the special interest groups take it from us.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Mr. D. Ratigan,
Yes, indeed many more then you think are mad as hell. As a baby boomer, now with internet ready, along with shovel ready to trumpet for a more productive leadership in government to get jobs going while knowing what we have is not working for the average person is not a good thing. Are you part of that federal office in West Virginia that is supposed to investigate fraud?
For anyone who studies the calculus of probability understands that small errors do abound. But huge big errors, do not happen. What in the world am I trying to say? "Too big to fail " is a cool, cultural financial marketing term dumped on John Q. Public. Too big to fail is related to, a large error that do not exist. A large error is highly and likely something fabricated intentionally like the derivative market.
For all practical issues regulation is totally confused with Quality Control which every good business should have along with every good government. It is simple you have to have food, police, fire, medical, school teachers, energy and mobility to make a basic social circuit work. Cutting taxes to shrink what is already deficient sounds very Wahhabi to me. That very basic Arab money that is flush in the political circuit is the primary difficulty. You all know it and have failed for years to expose it.
The previous administration, or past five generations have been flush with Wahhabi money through out our economy. In their books Gearld Posner, and Russ Baker have exposed the treachery, not conspiracy, but total complicity with this cash cow of profiteering that has finally hit the middle class. Those perpetrators are the long time media and the politicians. Yes those trusty Congress people and Senate yes even MSNBC, of course we must lean forward to be able to read those tiny words of official disclaimers the are impossible to read in a millisecond on the television screen. That is worse then viewing a fortune cookie prophecy at the distance of ten feet. huge LOL
Yes, the arrogance of politics and electromagnetic journalism is returning right back to it, like the karma of hate that it spews, that hate is coming right back to congress and the senate. Obama already has flushed out the criminals of sedition and Treasonal regression in the electromagnetic spectrum. For decades journalist and politicians have ditched America all the while waving the flag. The best part is there is no way out but to resign, or face generations of hate, those that don't, will likely never be able to spend the treasury they stole and keep what has been pick-pocketed from middle America, like the basic dignity of having a job..
John
How do I sign Get Money Out petition?
thank god for what you are trying to do. i am 80 years old and canot beleiv wha has happened to our great country. we need to throw out all the greedy bastards
Finally, finally we hear on TV what people say to themselves at home but never expect to hear acknowledged in public. Our "legislators" are bought and paid for to change the rules (laws) so their funders win and the rest of us lose. Is it possible they've finally gone too far with their INSATIABLE greed, that we've hit a turning point in the history of this country? We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore!
Lets get these politicians out office house and senate next election so we can get some legislation passed for the 90%. And they know who they are!
Dylan Ratigan for President!!
I'm MAD AS HELL and I'm NOT gonna take it anymore !!! A MUST READ …
This is what the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement is all about, I believe .
Everyone needs to go back and watch NETWORK, the 1976 movie with the most brilliant screenplay in history by Paddy Chayefsky, who gave us Howard Beale, the 'Mad Prophet of the Airwaves' (whose role is filled currently by Dylan Ratigan on MSNBC). Here's the original rant (this was written in 1976 !!!):
Howard (on air) (Peter Finch, actor won a posthumous Oscar for this role):
"I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth, banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be!
We know things are bad – worse than bad, They're crazy! It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone!'
Well, I'm not gonna leave you alone! I want you to get MAD! I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot – I don't want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you've got to get mad! You've got to say, "I'm a human being, goddammit! My life has value!"
So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now, and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell: "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"
I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell – 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!'
Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!… You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

Don't Mess with the Primal Forces of Nature
Corporate America's response to 'I'm Mad as Hell …' unfortunately, this will probably be the response to the Occupy Wall Street movement as well …
Mr. Jensen (Chairman of the Board):
…
"You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Beale, and I won't have it!! Is that clear?! You think you've merely stopped a business deal. That is not the case. The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country, and now they must put it back!
It is ebb and flow, tidal gravity! It is ecological balance! You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations. There are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and immune, interwoven, interacting, multivariate, multi-national dominion of dollars. Petro-dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars, Reichmarks, Yen, Rubles, Pounds, and Shekels. It is the international system of currency which determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural order of things today. That is the atomic and subatomic and galactic structure of things today! And YOU have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and YOU WILL ATONE!
Am I getting through to you, Mr. Beale? You get up on your little twenty-one inch screen and howl about America and democracy. There is no America. There is no democracy. There is only IBM and ITT and AT&T and DuPont, Dow, Union Carbide, and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today.
What do you think the Russians talk about in their councils of state — Karl Marx? They get out their linear programming charts, statistical decision theories, minimax solutions, and compute the price-cost probabilities of their transactions and investments, just like we do. We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr. Beale. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business.
The world is a business, Mr. Beale. It has been since man crawled out of the slime. And our children will live, Mr. Beale, to see that perfect world in which there's no war or famine, oppression or brutality — one vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock, all necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused. And I have chosen you, Mr. Beale, to preach this evangel.
Howard Beale: Why me?
Arthur Jensen: Because you're on television, dummy. Sixty million people watch you every night of the week, Monday through Friday.
Howard Beale: (Awestruck, after taking in the totality of Mr. Jensen's towering presence, and the weight of his message) "I have seen the face of God!"
Arthur Jensen: You just might be right, Mr. Beale."

VIVE LA REVOLUTION !
Ironically, the Republicans have sown the seeds for a successful revolt against the system … it's called 'Starve the Beast'. Stop funding the government, and it will collapse. However, they want to use it to bring down only the social safety net, not the entire.system, by refusing to fund only select gov't programs.
If enough people stopped paying taxes, simply refused, the system would collapse upon itself in short order. The government can't jail everyone for tax evasion, trying to do so would collapse the legal system as well. As Gandhi showed the world, a government can't jail everyone if enough people just say NO …
I fear that chaos and anarchy would result, and hope that government changes its ways, acts to control our out-of-control economic system and corporations, and takes care of 'We the People' before it pushes us to take such a drastic and catastrophic step to force CHANGE … for this would guarantee that the system would indeed change … the bottom line is that, ultimately, the power to do this is within our hands. WE ARE NOT POWERLESS !!!
* The ANGER is there (per Howard Beale, First you've got to get MAD!)
* The ANSWER is there (stop feeding/funding the addict/beast)
Now, all that remains is to wait until the system gets SO unfair and people become SO desperate that they get to the point where they have nothing left to lose … Vive la Revolution!!!

Dylan,Right on!!! No none nails it better than you. You give hope to us senior citizens who have fought for social and economic justice most of our lives , that America is alive and well even though we are bombarded by greed, corruption and political sell outs to the highest bidders. Please keep up your extraordinary work, Respectfully, Barbara & Bud James
looking at the current situation not only in the us but in Britain as-well we are a product of our environment. we have let it go on since kings and queens taxed our ancestors we give it away being of sound body and mind thinking it benefits us in ways that we no are there just not enough to remind us of all the pros .governments have become money hungry and vote orientated" we will campaign win votes and set aside the next half a decade making mistakes for future generation s " For the president to stand up and say it well i get the point but i don't see the president do you we can shout all day long but all we do is stir a few who stir some more but nothing else. If you people are serious do like he says do your homework and find your voice be it through congress or whatever means. Just lets hope its not just another ad campaign to get us blinkered to real dilemma on the streets outside our homes . If it where you receiving the benefits then im sure you wouldn't be on here but just my opinion. Dont go crusaiding just yet we have been electing our officials to help themselves for years i think the only truth in the whole situation is when he said" Its not new this happens every day people 365 days every year so yes your right to get your opinions but just from a non official taxpayers perspective maybe it should have been done and finalized long ago.
Way to go Dylan. It is so nice to hear someone who has knowledge and speaks with authority. This sounds like a situation similar to the Congressional bank and post office.
Hi Dylan, I listened to your "rant" on the internet and loved it. In speaking about Corporate responsibility, I have an great example of how people are being used for corporate assets and then discarded after giving their productive lives to the corporation. In the south, where people are doing very dangerous jobs helping oil companies to make a profit, $1000 dollars a month or so and trying to raise their families. We in the world have no clue as to the destruction that drilling for oil has on the individuals that risk their daily health and lives (literally) on a daily basis to make boucoup dollars for corporations. Did you know that they work life expectancy for people working on the platforms is about 10 years max? I bet not. And when they leave those positions, many of their bodies are worn out from the hard labor involved. Would love to have a discussion with you on that topic as well as looking at overall corporate responsibility to the communities that make these corporations rich.
Yes !!!! Finally someone I can relate to on MSNBC. You are saying everything we in the middle are feeling ! Thank you for giving us a voice. I say that if the Tea Party (anti-big government) and the OWS (anti- big Corporations) could just get together it would be a force to be heard. The fact of the matter is most don't want socialism, we want a FAIR capitalist system. It is no longer fair because the big banks and the big corporations OWN big government ! We Have to get the money out of the government ! The large banks and corporations buy off the Congress to get the laws passed that they want and the everyday American is continually screwed. That is NOT the American way ! Doing the Right thing has long been dead in this country when it comes to the almighty dollar. Greed has taken it's place. Thank you Mr. Ratigan, I will be making a point to watch your show in the future.
RUN FOR PREZ!! YOU GOT MY VOTE! BE REALLY FUCKIN NICE TO SEE SOMEONE IN THE WHITE HOUSE WHO HAS THE BALLS TO SAVE OUR HARD EARNED FREEDOM/COUNTRY!
You can definitely see your expertise in the paintings you write. The arena hopes for more passionate writers such as you who are not afraid to say how they believe. All the time go after your heart.

Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.
- Mark Twain, a Biography
The lightning there is peculiar; it is so convincing, that when it strikes a thing it doesn't leave enough of that thing behind for you to tell whether–Well, you'd think it was something valuable, and a Congressman had been there.
- Mark Twain's Speeches, "The Weather"
It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.
