Money is not the problem, it is the megaphone. The entity with the biggest megaphone usually wins the election. And speaking in favor of a candidate is protected by First Amendment. Sorry, try another draft.
Jimmy Carter was recently interviewed and he said that in his campaign against Ronald Reagan there was no money from PACS or private contributors, all the money came from the funds provided by the money we designate to fund campaigns on our Income Tax. It is time to go back to the future.

B. It's a good idea to have the campaigns funded that way. I wish it was true.
I think the angst we share and exhibit through the Occupy protest is rooted in the frustration that money has a larger influence on government than the voter. Petition and Advocate for Public Financing of Political Campaigns. We OWN the airwaves and should co-opt them during Election Cycles.
How can the removal of the "Pay to Play" lobbyists playground that our government has become be changed when it's the ones who stand the most to lose that are voting to change it. How can there be a total flush-out of the governmental cesspool?
