Dylan Ratigan is under the weather today.  Heroically, Ari Melber (@arimelber) will be filling in. Big thanks to Ari for pinch hitting today!

The Big Story: “Round 2” at the U.S. Supreme Court for the Health Care Act. Today the court considered whether to strike down the heart of President Obama’s health care law — the insurance mandate.  If you look up mandate in the dictionary, you’ll see it is “an authoritative command; especially a formal order from an official.”  For health care, the question is whether the government can “mandate” that you buy health insurance.  We’ll be discussing the latest from the Supreme Court today with Ari Melber (@arimelber), NBC Justice Correspondent Pete Williams, and Mike Sacks (@mikesackshp), legal correspondent for The Huffington Post and graduate of Georgetown Law School.

Also coming up on the show today:

The Megapanel:  Joining us today is Jimmy Williams (@jimmywilliams), Karen Finney (@finneyk) and Susan Del Percio (@delpercios).  We’ll get their take on “The Supreme Spin Game.”  Plus, an all-time low in public support for the Afghan war — a new NY Times/CBS News poll has 69% of Americans against the war there.  It’s a steep drop in support, as only four months ago, that was at 53%.  Once again, we ask — what are we doing there?

Hiring Our Veterans: More than 100 members of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America are on Capitol Hill today.  Their mission: meet with lawmakers and advocate on issues affecting returning troops — unemployment, education, and of course, mental health services. We’ll talk to Tom Tarantino, policy director for the IAVA and Dave Smith, Iraq veteran and a member of this “Storm the Hill” initative.

The Specialist:  With the STOCK Act waiting for the President’s signature, could accountability be catching on in Washington?  Tonight, some of the nation’s leading voices on the issue of accountability — from Wall Street to Washington — will gather in the nation’s capitol. (Our own Dylan Ratigan was supposed to moderate that panel, but he’s feeling under the weather, and our own Karen Finney has graciously stepped in to lead the discussion. She will be joined by Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibbi, former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer, Pulitzer prize winning author Ron Suskind and our specialist, Heather McGhee, the Washington office director for DEMOS.

The Interrupters:  What happens when the daughter of one of Chicago’s most feared gang leaders takes on crime herself?  We’ll talk to filmmaker Steve James and Ameena Matthews, one of the three “violence interrupters” profiled in the film.  Check out their website here, and the trailer:

And finally, David Goodfriend will handle today’s Daily Rant — he says our health care debate has a lot in common with “The Hunger Games.”  Tune in to see what he’s talking about!
